I’m not surprised in the slightest. He is pretty effective when used correctly, but he has such a steep learning curve. No noob will be able to use him as well as Stoker or Proxy, so I think most people probably expected to see him in last place.

Fletcher shall rise again in three days time to topple the Proxy and Stoker regimes. Long live the Fletch! Though Stoker’s not bad either, and Proxy is good, she should be adjusted in a way that makes her better for good players, and less obnoxious against bad ones, though I’m not a dev, so I can’t really tell how

On second thought, a great proxy can shoot her mines…

I did expect this, but that doesn’t make it any less depressing… When the community complains about Fletcher being OP, then doesn’t use him in free rotation… Consistency, much?

Yeah, lots of players aren’t good, and being good with Fletcher takes way more skill than being good with proxy does.

Seeing all the low level gameplay with Fletcher makes me cry. 0,0 movement and stickies are degraded to wannabe mines at walls so the fletcher can camp there and wait for prey just to hit the switch when the enemy walked already through the door and is butchering fletcher with his knife.

They are simply too new to know how to move smooth and thats what Fletcher does need. (And Lock On as augument…)

Come to think of it, a Vassili Fletcher combo would be pretty good for sticky traps, if you’re not good with stickies, you set up a trap on the objective and a HB sensor nearby, though that’s two mercs doing things worse than they could, as the sensor belongs on the frontline, and stickies are better as gunfight tool, disregard

One thing about sticky traps though, people never look up for proxy mines :neutral:

oh hell yes all of this. there was this one match i played on trainyard offense, and a vassie threw a snowball somewhere that marked enemies trying to take the corridor into the MG room, and it marked one such fellow doing that, and i boobytrapped the end of said corridor with stickies and felt so smart. i have a shadowplay recording of it.

The only reason why I am not playing Fletcher during that event is because I wanted to help my friends getting that Stoker card.

As soon as that even will end, I’ll go back to my old habits : Fletcher back in squad and Stoker switched for Kira on Trainyard and Chapel.

As a Fletcher main, I can say…

I have no ambition for getting rare/valuable Special Edition loadouts for FLetcher. Bronze A31 is the perfect Fletcher card and I’m never going to replace it. (Maybe I would on the 1/360000 chance that I got a Cobalt Shard A31 from a case.)

I am looking forward to the AoE nerf… less blowing myself up and the same skillshotstickythrowing fun of in your face Fletchering. :stuck_out_tongue:

He is OP in the hands of someone like Sniff or n80…someone who knows how to play well and stick with reliability…in the hands of newbs…its easier just to drop a mine and forget…because very often pubs don’t look before they leap and Proxy racks in lots of easy kills like that.

You might end up disappoint. IMO Ahnuhld looks godawful in shard. x_x

Not A31 but seriously, look at this :

Ahnuhld looks like a freaking toygun. Meanwhile in Fragment it looks way better IMO :

Of course, if you still prefer Shard, I see no problem with it.

However if you want a Blishlok loadout, Shard looks awesome on it :

Never had the balls to trade up to a cobalt Fletcher but RNGesus gave me the Suspect A31 too bad I’m awful at this game and can’t use shotguns lol

I spectated someone playing with a Cobalt Shard Ahnuhld once and the blue-and-black color combination just looks sexy imho, regardless of the gun. Fragment looks pretty stunning too, though, so I’ll have to tweak those odds to 1/180000. Twice as good, but still never going to happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

In any case, a Cobalt Fletcher loadout would interfere with my plans of equipping Fletcher with the Spam Trap trinket (if binding Trinkets to mercs becomes a thing). The green would clash with the blue/silver and I would be forced to equip a more badass trinket instead. ^.^
