plz be nice to your medics.

(neg0ne) #1

ok, sd did a good job in making the job of medics hard.
( auto-lock-on, auto-move, no choice whom to revive / buff etc. etc…)

but please guys:
if your downed and see a medic running towards you ( you see on the screen how far he is away and if hes moving your direction) … plz dont tab out right when he´s approaching you.

its really frustraiting, when you bring yourself in danger to revive a fallen teammate, get in trouble for him and he just tabs out the moment you reach him.

thx

I think what our friend said in his Philipino accent is that if there is such a danger in your going toward the fallen person as a medic, then it is most likely that the fallen person will get gibbed either way. I would somewhat agree but I think it’s obvious what to do according to the given circumstances. Secondly, no one tabs out, nor taps out sins there is no tappout key. Personally I have always been a proponent of clearing the area first before moving into reviving someone at a distance. But each person to his own opinion I guess.

(neg0ne) #4

i´m not talking about reviving a mate in the middle of chaos, so he will be dead within 5 sec. anyway. and im not talking about suicidal selfkill-revived.

all i´m asking is: plz watch out for meds when downed and don´t “tab out” if someones coming.

and yes… you have the choice : either wait for med, or start from the beginning again. thats what i call “tab out”.

got it?

thx

(iFork) #5

or you could set your objectives to revive teammates so they know how far you are and how fast you’re coming? Most of the time I tabbed out was due to medics that don’t do this and I didn’t know they were coming to revive me.

(Nexolate) #6

It doesn’t matter whether you do or don’t set the Objective, people will always give up because they’re oblivious to the fact they have a team trying to work together. It’s happened when I play Medic, a lot.
Most of the time I tabbed out was due to medics that don’t do this and I didn’t know they were coming to revive me.
Most medic are just dumb noobs who never rush to revive someone and often even don’t see you when ur next to them for 10-15sec so I just tap out. Rare are those who look at their oversized hud to go for hurt people. It should be easy to know that you’re better off throwing the seringue before engaging a fight with an enemy, not the opposite -_-

A lot of people in this thread must have had a difficult time in their English classes.

 1. It’s “tap out”, not “tab out”.
 2. It’s “syringe”, not “seringue”.

Back on topic…yeah, the way the game is currently played, on pubs at least, is really dumb. It’s just sprint out for the millionth time from spawn, get killed, tap out, rinse and repeat. It’s team deathmatch style worse then CoD, which this game supposedly tries so hard to be better than. I think it’s poorly chosen mechanics of the game and poor design of maps that promotes this type of team deathmatch style without waiting on medics to revive or anything like that.

Yea, that gets really annoying. I’ll be 4-5m from them and clearing the area, finally kill every one, go to throw the syringe and they redeploy (without getting gibbed). Grrr…

I think the people that do that are either new, low on ammo or low on supplies already and don’t want to be revived. That’s what I do usually. But I’ll usually say something like “don’t revive me, need supplies” so they don’t waste theirs.

(Deadwalking) #10

It may be that in their wait for you to arrive they are punching out some sick melody, and boom the timer hits zero and they respawn.

Or it may be that you don’t see the guy poppin off shots from a distance, and BAM in the down teammates dome.

It does suck when it happens, but it does happen. The worst is when you have already tossed them a syringe then they get gibbed or tap out.

(Jamieson) #11

What is even more annoying is when you throw a laz nade at someone and they tap out just as you throw it.

(ED209) #12

I pretty much reserve my supply for health buff or revive now. Always keep a needle or two in stock. If I chuck a needle, and they tap out, no big deal. It has been happening since W:ET and then in ET:QW. Play medic enough with the same crew and they will start sticking around past spawn timer if you do a good job.

(Seatsniffer) #13

uhuh my experience too, ED

after playing for a round with the team, they know what to expect from me, and start to rely on it…makes perfect sense.
I play a pure Medic, light bodytype and silent footsteps

(Seatsniffer) #14

oh and I buff anyone, not just the top players:P
Lesser guys should learn too, what having a medic is all about

(Kalbuth) #15

^- This
At their credit, they can’t possibly know you’re going to revive them from 30m away, and the timer is ticking
I’ll need to re-build my “bsay” to make them fit and have a “INCOMING LAZARUS, DON’T TAP OUT” in bright pink

(Je T´aime) #16

A bit off topic but ye sometimes i choose not to wait for the medic or use the seringe but just because tactical stuff, like no amo, need to change class etc

In bad company 2 when you get revived by a medic, you can´t decide if you want to be revived or not, you just get revived like in front of a enemy tank or other kamikazi situation, or you need amo and no soldiers in your team to give you amp etc, so it kinda sux compared to brink system in that aspect.

(Mustang) #17

I get this in random pubs (as well with mates), from both sides of the coin

Once you’ve played a couple of maps and know you have a good medic or two on your team it’s often preferable to wait the extra couple of seconds to get a revive than respawn on your own
If the medic dies on the way to reach you it’s also fine, as you can respawn together and push back in as a team

If I’m the medic the reverse applies in that teammates do seem to wait for revive rather than tapping out once they know you’re not just out there to help yourself
The players that do tap out tend to still be learning the ropes so I don’t get too bothered as they aren’t the greatest asset to the team anyway
huh?? you jelly bro?

only if you suck. i hardly ever get killed after i revive.

simply look around for a decent place to run and hide, so when you revive you can make a break. only idiots would just stand there after being revived. and sionce k/d is irrelevent i dont mind if i die several times in a row, who cares?!?

(matsy) #19

The thing I hate the most is auto-lock on command posts, your running out of spawn trying to buff your team when bam, its auto-locked on the command post and changed my class to engineer or something stupid! Very annoying in match situation when every second counts and pips :stuck_out_tongue:

(KAS--Will) #20

I can see your pain, or why you are requesting this… but sometimes we just don’t wanna go on…
