Like the title says, what’s your view on pliers (repairing)
It takes 2-3 airstrikes to disable the EV and then the engi can just repair it straight away. While the fdops needs to wait for another charge.
Pliers OP?
I think the slow movement of the EV more than makes up for the speed that the pliers repair at.
I agree. If you change the speed of the pliers, you would also have to consider the speed of the EV and/or map time. F. ex. you can “counter” the repairing speed by, as the defence, push harder and more coordinated out, against the attackers.
On the topic of the health of the EV…also dependant on the all of above.
On the drone strike, I feel the splash damage of the strikes should be larger. And am I the only one that feels that grenades and airstrikes feels too slickery when touching the ground? It feels like you are throwing them on ice, with a low arch.
The repair speed could probably be reduced a little bit (not greatly)… right now it’s almost trivial to repair if it’s disabled (after the initial repair, that is).
I’ve found myself pretty much disregarding the EV, apart from trying to kill the players escorting. It’s a waste of my grenade though to try to disable it to save what will amount ~15 seconds of progression. Okay, that’s probably a bit of an exaggeration but it’s too difficult to disable at the moment. The effort:benefit isn’t there.
In all honesty I’d probably prefer them to speed up the EV and slow down the repair a tad.

This is a pretty good explanation of what I meant. Atm there isn’t really that much point in wasting time disabling the EV, you’re better off just trying to keep the attackers away from it.
Would like to see the repair time take about two seconds more (assuming it’s one person repairing).
Keep in mind there may be other characters that have access to better anti-ev weapons and tools, that we havent seen yet. But yeh the repair time seems a bit quick.
Disabling the EV has more meaning if the attacking team temporarily does not run any or too few engineers. Keeping those away once disabled is possible with good communication.
Maybe, but I haven’t seen it yet - even in our pug games. The EV is never really a great distance away from the attacking team unless it’s whitechapel and the EV is almost at the last objective. Worst case scenario I’ve seen it just turns into a lemming rush where it takes one or two respawns to repair it as a solo engineer.
That’s because it delayed them for a substantial amount of time. I think the engineer couldn’t even fully repair the tank with 1 full charge bar. Add to that the fact, that other objectives and dynamite use charge bar too…
Now it’s just kinda crazy compared to W:ET, dynamite + repair + throw down a turret no problem.
