please stop populating obj servers

i dont really understand why the compulsion to join the obj server over sw servers exists at all. Besides the horrendous spawn system in place on them, why wouldnt you want to attack on the map that you just defended? i understand for pure pub fun, but this is an alpha, not an open f2p pub game yet.

Agree. I am sometimes trying to run SW servers when I am connecting with some friends just for the spawn issue. Still a bit messy without the spawn timer but it’s still better.

annnnnnnd what isnt casual about play sw? besides the 100x better spawn system which makes the games better on every account, it isnt “more hardcore” to play with those settings

The SW mode also has a minimum player count. I have seen 8 min for sure and I think 6 min on another server, not sure if it is enforced on all of them or not. While the minimum number of players is not present, you get a message like “Waiting for x players to join” instead of “Waiting for x players to ready up”. Makes it harder to get a server going… :frowning:

Edit: After a quick tour of the SW servers, it looks like only the Match servers are setup win a minimum player count, the Veteran servers have no minimum (beside the obvious 1 on each team).

Objective is just poor… SW all the way for balanced matches… you don’t have to worry about attackers winning 80-90% of the time. I haven’t gotten to play much in the past week tho so maybe that is different after the patch.

it is a little different with the changes to anything that involves pliers, but still doesnt change the want for sw.

also why does the game assign a new player to attackers? that doesnt even make sense

personally i prefer sw, but given the limited player numbers I’ll join whats on offer. completely agree that the spawn wave setup should be the same on both servers. I’d also remove the ability to respawn when you like after the initial spawnwave has come and gone - but that’s been mentioned a few times already.

bear in mind though that some folk prefer cycling right through the maps, especially given the length of some of them - also answers the question about favouring attackers, otherwise you risk rather boring full holds…

The reason is that the maps are so long with 4/5 objectives at 20/25mins.

If they were 2/3 objs at 10/15min then it wouldn’t be such a ballache playing the same map for practically an hour.

its extremely rare for maps to last that long currently. it’s more like 5-10 mins without the ability to even setup at any phase with the way that defenders get steamrolled in the current setup

I play objective because I want to play as many maps as possible. And I have a very little hope that we will finally see a better spawnsystem on objective servers fingers crossed The current spawn system just sucks balls.

I prefer SW, but not with the current length of maps, so that’s why I prefer Obj.

Personally, I’d play SW all the time. But remember we’re playing the maps for balance testing. Best case scenario would be SW spawns but not having to play both sides (people will get bored easier).

I hate it when people keep flocking towards stopwatch? Why would you want to play an entire map twice while there’s so much more to test?

because sw is so much more fun atm apart from playing a map twice.
imo obj server issue is not just the spawns but the awful time restrictions.

perfect condition would be obj server, full time given at start, spawn waves and FF.
