PLEASE, Splash Damage, improve the friendly AI.

I’ve been playing the campaign on the PC. After playing MAG for a year and other shooters in the past, this is the level of team work you and noobiness you’ll get online. TBH the AI isn’t that bad, I have had to put up with a lot worse from other AI and real players.

“Completing the objective” does not equal “being the hero”.

Maybe it does in some people’s eyes - but I’m thinking…when I’m hacking an objective and my teammate downs 4 enemies before dying, allowing me to complete the objective…um…who’s the hero?

Challenges are aptly named…(although I’m thinking they would be better named “Frustrations”). They are definitely a challenge - but they don’t really prepare you for MP. They even penalize you for working with a human team - because you can only get the unlocks by playing Solo.

And anyways - you can still implement voice commands, restrict the AI from completing non-defense objectives and make your AI team do some very basic team support…like shooting the enemy defusing a bomb…especially when you are downed and can’t do anything about it.

I agree with Geese. I’d rather play a supporting role of the some time, not get shoehorned into where the developers demand I be. They essentially don’t give you a choice. Wow, it’s really fun having a linear experience with a campaign that is modeled after online play.

Also, the friendly AI not going for objectives BREAKS the game. It makes your team useless, because they don’t help you do anything, while the enemies all try and win it. If I wanted my back up against the wall the whole time I was playing, I’d go play Demon’s Souls, or something. Whoever made this design choice should get moved to another project. They single-handedly ruined the campaign.

I think it was in unreal tournament (yes the original, and QW probably had this too) years and years ago you could just request bots cover you and that kind of thing and if they didn’t have a better command at that time they’d follow you or do whatever your request is. Something like that when you’re hacking something and you’re actually COVERED would be quite a revolution for this game. Maybe make it so only bots within “earshot” obey you or something.

AI ran hot and cold for me, sometimes I got epic “you can’t tell whos real and whos AI” moments that they talked about and others they worked like the floating city they fight on
