I don’t if this belongs in the section or the map section, but I’ll post it here because this section is more active.
So here’s how I think it should work -
Repair EV: Overtime will last while the EV is being repaired and for another 3 seconds after somebody stops repairing.
This means that if I start repairing the EV and suddenly die, my teammates have another 3 seconds to start repairing it again before the game ends and we lose.
Note: this includes both when the EV is in the starting point and hasn’t been repaired yet and when the EV was destroyed and is being repaired again.
Escort EV: Overtime will last as long as the EV is up and running. The game will end once the EV is destroyed.
C4 (destroy objective): Overtime will last while someone is planting or the C4 is active and for 5 seconds after a player started planting.
This means that if I start planting and die in the process, my teammates will have another 5 seconds to start planting again before we lose.
Deliver objective: game will end only once the objective is returned to the starting point.
The objective will automatically return to the spawn point if it’s on the ground for longer than 5 seconds (instead of the 60 seconds or whatever it is now).
If none of the objectives have been yet delivered and the attackers are delivering one, the game will end once the first one is delivered (the attackers don’t get a chance to deliver both of them)
To avoid abuse, overtime will only last for up to 120 seconds. So you can’t just take the objective and camp in a random corner, leading to an infinite match length.
The “x” seconds can be changed, so for example if you think 5 seconds to start planting again is too much, it can be lowered, but you get the idea.
The “120 seconds max overtime length” should only effective in objective delivery mode, EV and C4 will have no time limit and infinite matches will be possible in theory.
