Please help fixing screen warping

(masterfulDrum) #1

Hi,

I’m not too sure if it’s called screen warping it’s when let’s say there’s a circular Fan. If you are facing it directly it is a circle, if you turn and position the same vent to the edge of your screen you can see the shape being warped into an ellipse. (I would show you with screenshots but I cant upload them into forum). Whoever understand what I am talking about, please let me know how I can turn it off.

Thanks

hmm not sure are you talking about a effect similar to this one? http://www.thephotomentor.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/sculpture-blog.jpg

If yes is this only happening when you are sprinting or always?
Sprinting only - settings / hud / view turn sprinting FOV off.
Always - settings / hud / view lower the FOV setting try the lowest.

Hi Gi.Am thanks for the reply. Yea similar to that. I don’t know though, I don’t like the FOV to be low… This doesnt happen with other shooters though… Is this an engin specific problem?

Well then increase the FOV…There is an option for changing FOV , in options ! (or you can do the .ini edit to change FOV)

Engine specific? Dude…This game is made with UE and … you have never played a game made with UE before?

last game i have played on UE was unreal tournament, and that was like a lonnnng time ago. Man, love the game concepts but the engine though…

The problem you describe has nothing to do with the engine. it’s the FOV settings, and keep in mind that other games might use another way to calculate it. So what might be FOV 120 in the game you normaly play could very well be FOV 70 in DB. So adjust FOV till it feels right and ignore the numbers.

The only other thing I could think of that causes similar problems (circles becoming elipses) would be a wrong aspect ratio. unlikely but possible if you are not playing in the native resolution of your monitor.

Honestly I dunno how anyone plays under 100. Anything under it feels weird. Doesn’t look weird, just…ew.
