Please fix the Burst Rifles!

(yusayu) #1

Hi,
so, the last update screwed with the Burst Rifles pretty badly. Took away all their close-/midrange potential and traded it for long-range campyness. But we already had the Dreiss for that! If i wanna sit in a corner and wait for the enemy to cross my sight i’m going to want a Semi-Auto weapon with high alpha damage that allows me to drop my the first headshot before the weapon gets inaccurate rather than having a burst rifle that is inaccurate from the 2nd shot on and allows for less alpha damage.
On the other hand, why would i want to have two weapons that do the EXACT same thing as the weapon i already have access to?
And as we are talking Kira and Arty here (Skyhammer would always use the M4 cause its the strongest weapon in the game, yadda yadda), they are pretty weak in the first place and are both even more obsolete now that Stoker is in the game (he has full-auto assault rifles btw).

The best two fire supports are in dire shape already because there is Skyhammer who is just plain better at doing their business and has a stronger weapon.

My proposal is to first fix the Burst Rifles back to where they were before, or implement a ‘switch fire mode’ button that lets you choose between the two settings on the fly.
Secondly the M4 should get its long-overdue nerf (maybe to the accuracy).
Then, for the next update, all Skybound Fire Supports should get a revamp.

Gratz, Toby.

Just revert the changes… please…

I’m a fan of the new BR-16. Yeah it’s definitely not a good change for a lot of people but if you get used to the new timing and are a bit accurate then it absolutely wrecks people. Amazing with headshots and feels really powerful per burst. But it can’t be spammed as easily anymore.

Revert the changes, for the sake of keeping Kira and Arty viable. just, what where they thinking?!

I remember when they changed the old long range into the new old all range burst rifles, and it turned them from a long range weapon into a better than nearly all all range weapon that was too damn easy to use. I hated it, and maintained that it was ridiculous throughout its time in that state. They are long range rifles that became super effective at all ranges just so they could be easier to use, and now that they have changed them back from being spam weapons everyone is complaining! Well okay then, sure its going to be harder to pick them up now but thats a good thing. Reward the players who deserve to be rewarded for their precision and patience, rather than awarding the spammy players. Good choice Splash/ Nexon, now you just have to stick to it and know that what you have done is good for the community, even if some of them don’t like it. Be like the good mother who feeds the annoying little kid his necessary medicine even if he whines about it. Just don’t listen and keep going like this!

Burst Rifles never were effective at Long Ranges due to the inaccuracy that came with each shot and each shot dealing relatively low damage. You’d always want the Dreiss for Long Ranges.
Why in general would we need MORE Long Range weapons for Kira/Arty, we got the Dreiss already? On the other Hand, before the update, the Stark and BR-16 were barely even used, Kira and Arty werent played at all and on Skyhammer you still have the M4, which is the best weapon in the game.

Burst rifles definitely need to be given their DPS back. I’ve tested the new damage model out quite a bit and it most certainly is a significant nerf aha isn’t decent players. Not having the DPS edge really hurts and makes you easy prey for anyone that can reliably aim. The ability to OHK Vassili and Pheonix in CQC is simply not worth the nerf. The only improved thing about the change is how it’s now easier to slap down slow greens that ADS in CQC.
