Please Fix Flinch.

Staring at someones skull, compensating for flinch, and 20 fu$%^ng shots does nothing. Seriously. Fix it.

They have already reduced it A TON, it’s more than likely staying where it is. All I can say is get better aim and learn to compensate even better.

Get a loadout with the flinch augment. I liked the flinch. It made you spray less, but the implementation was poorly-made, since you just got a random big-ass spread.
SD should do a fixed, stronger flinch, so people can learn how to compensate it with less spraying.

are we talking about aim punch if so I think its to much as it stands.

how can you be rewarded for accuracy going for headshots when half of them will miss due to this mechanic.

to compensate you have to aim for the head when your the first to engage, then aim for the chest and hope your flinch hits the head when your being shot at.

Which game are you playing that you don’t hit headshots if you receive damage?

its just that when your aiming for the head while being shot at, the flinch kicks the shots above the enemies head. so your better of aiming for the chest when your getting shot at and hope the flinch is just enough to land headshots everynow and then and not fly over their head, like they would if you were aiming for the head

In this game, there’s so much flying around and quick paced action, you get used to the minimal flinch, and if your dodging well you barely get it.

If your standing still and lining up headshots, then your probably doing it wrong.

I’ve also gotten killed by plenty Vasilis trying to utilise the aimpunch. Got killed everytime. Stopped trying to outshoot them at range. Clearly there’s not enough aimpunch. Not that I’m complaining.

When aim punch is purely visual I’ll be happy.

Increase aimpunch, sure. Just fix it’s broken mechanic. If I have to increase my sensitivity by two times to be able to compensate for aim-punch, and STILL GET HITS, that’s fine with me.
But tracking someones head almost without fault, and being LUCKY to get 1 or two hits in an ENTIRE magazine of 8 round bursting, shows no skill at all.
and @blisteringOwlNest this game has client-sided hit registration. Dodging does nothing against skilled players. Skilled players force flinch when shooting at eachother. It’s whoever gets the worst of RNG-rolls of no-hits that will lose the fight.

And it doesn’t help that the servers are getting worse and worse. Even my friend agrees that a good portion of his shots are killing me AFTER running away, and getting cover lately. So this makes it even worse when some foreigner in a comp match with a server located in the country you reside in, manages to make you flinch 5 times before he’s even shot his first bullet.

YES. This is what I have been saying for so long. Randomization of bullets simply doesn’t make sense in a game like this. It has been toned down A LOT over time but it is still there and it is still an issue. Consistently precise aiming should be rewarded, not whoever shot first.

This is the one thing from Enemy Territory they could implement and benefit immensely from. It worked insanely well in that game, and considering Dirty Bomb is mostly obj/stopwatch based as well, it just makes more sense.

However, balancing for sniping aimpunch specifically is a bit tricky for this game. I honestly have no idea how to balance it out. Increase the visual knockback when shot depending on the range you are shot at? Not sure. Would be an interesting conversation.

It is not a dislike button (which was removed for a reason) or something you use for revenge. Please do not use it in that manner as it violates the harassment policy on the forums and it can make a mess for us mods to clean up. So do me a favor and use the buttons properly :slight_smile:

I could mention many games where flinch is so strong it affects your ability to hit your target, in other words ’ not getting headshots when receiving damage, or hits in general’

In fact, even though I’m not 100% certain on this since I don’t play it anymore. But in call of duty black ops 3 they completely removed the perk ‘flinch’ (because it was a game balance breaker) a lot of heated discussion on this especially with the PC crowd, since the consoles have built in aim assist which removes a lot the effect of flinch.

I cloud actually link possibly 100’s of videos regarding flinch in the FPS genre, with ’ cant hit shot’s (or headshots) due to high flinch.

Now I could ask you a straight question as to why I shouldnt be able to disagree to a question I clearly think is stupid since there is TONS of matter on the subject of flinch and being at a disadvantage when your being shot at first (since the advantage of shooting someone first (whether from positioning or skill) should be advantage enough, but the flinch mechanic augments that advantage by making it difficult to hit your target (or not getting headshots if you receive damage!!!)

A could also ask a question too Mr Off Topic that would get me banned from this forum in a second.

But if you think I cant disagree with a Question, your the Janitor so ill leave you to clean up whatever mess your perceive to be trash…

I didn’t say you couldn’t use it. I said you need to use it properly so that mods don’t have to look into the frequent situations that keep happening on this forum. We try to have a pretty light touch on the forum and stick to being normal posters with our own ideas and opinions that are weighted the same as everyone elses. But sometimes we have to be mods and of course that comes with repercussions. I’m sorry I had to ask you not to use something we consider improper but it is what it is.
