Please encourage more medics.

All i see is skyhammer or fragger. Everytime i have to choose aura (AOE heal), if i dun do that our team will have no medic at all. And i barely see people reviving each other. Because the time for reviving a person without defibrillator just takes too long. Please make do something about the medic class. She is very paper, all i can do is stand back providing heal and reviving teammates.

Unless you’re an uber-fragger who can exploit her excellent speed you’ll find she does her work best in a more passive role. That’s what she is good at. And if someone nasty wanders into your little hospital you give them some buckshot to the face.

Liked your post 'cos you’re that person who goes medic when no one else bothers.

You see Skyhammer all the time because he is the main merc in the training level and all newcomers choose him.

If you’re playing medic, deploy your health station and start strafing. You will be almost unkillable. She is paper otherwise, but she is very agile and if you combine that with her shotgun, she becomes a serious threat in medium or short range.
Being a medic, you should spend most of your time healing and reviving anyways. If you want to kill, you should either deploy a health station and stay inside its radius while shooting, or use your mobility to flank and kill unsuspecting enemies. Avoid direct confrontation!

I play medic 99% of the time. I love it. Though I play as Sawbonez and not Aura just because I prefer the packs to the station.

It sucks that not more people go medic but that’s expected with the stigma of medics in most games being a boring role with little-to-no action. Sawbonez seems to hold his weight in a fight though being a little weaker than some.

I encourage everyone to at least have a go at being medic. Dirty Bomb is the first game where I’ve actually enjoyed being a medic and it surprised me.

Well Skyhammer is your M4 wielding standard soldier type a guy people usualy play in other shooters. So alot of people will go with him just out of familarity.

However Sawbones is free right now. So there is no excuse. He is as competend as Skyhammer when it comes to fighting and replaces highdamage against the EV with picking up your friends and the ability to heal.

Also new guys keep in mind that a medic is pretty much the most valuable merc in most situations (so much that Pro teams take 2.

I hope they release a new medic soon so people will go nuts and buy him and use him for a while… at least that way we can be sure to have some medics on our team :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

(Nail) #7

why don’t you go medic ?
that way you’re sure to have a medic

(Mr-Penguin) #8

I believe that Phoenix, a medic with a self-revive and healing pulse (wave?), is going to be the next merc to be released.

(Viquel) #9

I see lots of medics in my team, they are always at the front. I’m a bit slow on my Rhino, so I arrive after they are dead, but that’s not a problem. Medics are meant to be the spearhead of any charge, right?

(Mr-Penguin) #10

@Viquel, that’s not necessarily the case. While medics are quite self-sufficient, they need the support of Assault and Fire Support mercs with more firepower to survive in a large firefight. Medics support a large push by keeping the others with full health and to revive the dead, not to wreck the entire enemy team (though a good player could totally do that).

That feel when 60% of your team are medics and that’s why you lose. More medics is not a problem. More assault/engie classes are.

(Amerika) #12

Medics are pretty popular when Sawbonez is part of the free rotation.

to be fair yur whole team is 5 or under so they don’t have engineers unlocked , you as the vet should probably of taken a engineer class and you might of won.
