Players Still Aren't Getting It

I’m dumbfounded. I really am. I just got out of a ranked match on Chapel where it was a stomp (as per usual on that map) and I met this complete idiot who still didn’t understand how the game worked after 466 HOURS logged in-game with Steam. Holy shit. A silver officer rank no less!

He started complaining about me at halftime, saying my KDR was why we were losing. He was 2nd from the bottom in terms of XP and score, and spent the whole match camping as Vassili in the back. Yes, my KDR was bad (I ended up going 11/36 derp) but I remained top of the scoreboard the entire match and had over 2,000 XP more than my entire team when all was said and done. He still complained that I sucked at the game and my KDR was why we were losing. It’s nearly infuriating to talk about as I spent the entire match as either Bushwhacker or Arty messing with the EV while he camped as Vassili and ran around shotgunning as Proxy.

What the hell are we doing wrong that a player with over 400 hours in game and decently mid-range rank STILL doesn’t understand that this game isn’t about KDR but objective game play and teamwork? I’m probably at fault somewhat here, my KDR was literally the worst it’s ever been, but I’d like to think my score on objectives vindicates that. You can suck at killing people and still take your team to victory with good objective game play.

Something about how players learn to play the game needs to change. I can’t put my finger on what would fix it exactly, but something definitely needs to change.

My KDR is usually 1/1 but I will die 10 times to repair the EV or 3 times to defuse c4. While Vasili hides in some dark corner getting cheap kills nowhere near the obj! We are the hard workers that play for results and not the the glory associated with a high KDR. Don’t get me wrong an effective Vas or Aimee can be priceless but sometimes they can be totally frustrating and they are the ones that scream in chat FIX THE DAM EV!

It’s the same in most games and best thing is to ignore these peeps that don’t get it and know your hard work makes them look good!!

@GatoCommodore I have screenshots of the end of match screen and his profile, but that’s naming and shaming which I will not do. I purposely left IGN’s and screenshots out of the post for that reason.

Just the usual kind of people who stool salty turds on a daily basis. He was salty he wasn’t in the winning team and had to find a scapegoat.

Some players will never get it.

Had a Silver Officer two days ago after 15 minutes / 1 half of a Chapel have 1700xp and 0/14 k/d.

Me: “0 kills? Also you haven’t revived me once”
Him: “Yes I am healer not shooter”

Might I add, this guy had 497 hours too.

tl;dr - Solo queue is cancer. It’s tempting, but just don’t do it lol.

This should pop up before entering solo queue.
Be more talkative, gather your friends and go 5v5

What also dazzles me is how many people just leave, even when you’re winning, and don’t return.

Seems to be the newer players. The ones who most likely open ranked to see what it’s about, and with their 5 minute attention span get bored and leave.

I had a matchnthenother day where somemone called me autisitic and saidni couldnt shoot for @#$% and lost the game because of me. Guess who had highest kills and score… me he was in middle. After i got stuck in the next ranked match with him on oposite teams he continued to call me autisitic to whole chat and tbagged me every time he killed me

Some people are either way too competitve or has the need to take focus of there poor performance off of them.

I mean, to be fair, 5v5 is mind-numbingly boring

But I simply don’t play it in the first place, instead of leaving a Ranked match because I’m bored :stuck_out_tongue:
