Players searching for Comp?

(solace_) #1

Hey Everyone,

Would it be possible to get something like this on the Comp page, A counter that shows the number of players who are currently looking for a game? I think it would be pretty useful so that if there are very few you don’t waste your time looking for what isn’t there.

what do ya think peoples?

But when there are only a few noone would ever try to search.
Let’s say now 1.000 people start search at one moment when there are only 10 already searching.
With a visible counter those 1.000 people gonna see there are only 10 people, and would not start to search.
It’s a heavily exaggregates example, but you get the idea.

Not a very good excuse not to have one imo. I would’ve liked to see one on day one, but certainly when they did their revamp of ranked it should have happened. At the very least give a generic number like “1-49 people are searching” then 50-149, 150-299, etc. Everybody wants to know they have a chance to find a game. I would prefer it to be more specific but something that tells you about how many people are also queued would be great.

And yes, some people may be turned off by seeing a low number, but isn’t is worse to wait for 5, 10 or 15 minutes without knowing if anybody is getting a match at all? That would be a worse turn off for me then knowing in advance it might be awhile to find a game. Suffering without knowing

@Ardez It wasn’t an excuse not to have one, just an issue that can occur, if there’s one. I don’t mind a counter, but I don’t feel the current playerbase would benefit so much from it.

I would say that is exaggerated to the point of impossibility. Plus it could be live, so that completely nullifies what you said anyway.

I already have enough FUN when I see a whole bunch of people in my friends list in lobby and still queue for 20+ minutes and get no games :^))))))))))))

Wanted to play a game before I went to bed last night…30 minutes not one match :S but I did finish my daily quests in Hearthstone.

queue times are pretty horrible, despite the change to solo/duo only

would be nice to know some figures so I could at least work out when peak times are for ranked and when it’s a complete waste of an hour
