Player Gain in December 2016

(GatoCommodore) #1

we have regained the number of player since last july steady drop back in december

I think the “Meme” Update works guys…

imagine if turtle paired with an actually fun event…
when turtle released SD gonna need to go All Out with everything they can to impress more players!

maan, we could get back to the june 2015 playerbase!

its been a low couple of months but you guys didnt quit playing and our memes are sent into steam community to be laughed at

Meme Magic Works guys!

What happened in October?

(Chilled Sanity) #3

I hate this game but cant stop playing it because I love getting mad at shotgun retards proxies and sentient mortars naders

(GatoCommodore) #4

Doesn’t really explain why there are 10 spikes, all almost the same length of time apart, rather than the smooth curve everywhere else

(x3mytiz) #6

Those spikes are in weekends, after school started.

(onLooSe) #7

For god’s sake… he is just on 6 months view and this is how steam charts works.

It shows only the last 3 months with detail. In 6 months view it shows the first 3 of those smoothed out and in 1 year… well everything is smoothed out/rounded off.

As far as what the OP implies with this … it can be total crap. After all, it was holidays and I doubt the spike is meme related what so ever.
It’s the same shit with almost every game during christmas.

oh yeah take a look at the most played FPS in the steam then

in DB chart
if you actually try to look at the chart you can see that post christmas and post december the player gained during that time sticks more than players leave.

in CSGO chart they didnt retain their average players instead more players leaving and not becoming average.

what does this means?

this means the DB playerbase is increasing. Not a whole lot but there are people who enjoyed the game even if they didnt stick they will get asked by their friends if their friends decided they want to try dirty bomb.

popularity is always good, people will try nonetheless

(GatoCommodore) #9

see here from this july 2015 to 2017 people in the meme update actually came in huge numbers, unlike the previous Dickens update which resulted in steady decline instead of an increase

(The_N00Ba) #10

With out actually having access to the data itself, I personally do not trust just using the steam charts. I guess I am not found of how they do not provide all the important information and how they display the information that they do. just me though.

(Mc1412013) #11

Free candy day, the begining of major tests in school, no turtle yet anouncemnet???

(BlackboltLW) #12

See, memes could save something too!

Like Robbie Rotten and Dirty Bomb’s playerbase

(BananaSlug) #13

now imagine that all of those “new” players realize how the game functions and just say “ahh, fuck it” and leave. Thats pretty much why we dont need new players, they will think about advertising, when the game will be ready for it, now its not the time for it and they shouldn’t

(Wolf_Darkrose) #14

my god you brought a tear to my eye. you know we might have to start an AA meeting and talk about these problems. haha

(Wolf_Darkrose) #15

as for the game. steam charts is ok but steam spy really will dig into the grit of the numbers. steam only does rough numbers.

check either of these out. all of the numbers and graphs to your heart’s content.
steam charts only track CCU players, which is not a good representation of the size of the player base. What you want to look at is owners, and then compare that to the total audience so you can see how many people whom own the game, are actually playing it.

CCU only measures how many owners are playing at the exact same time. An increase in CCU does not equal an increase in player base unless the total amount of owners increases with it as well as the total audience.

fair enough. you both have a point. still steam spy shows better numbers. since steam itself can just lie to make a profit.
