Player as targets

At the singleplayer of the first CoD you died when you tried to escape from the map, mostly by an arty or a bot.

I wanna do the same thing, using a player as a target. If they are trying to escape they would be killed by an arty.

If anyone know how to do that, please tell me :slight_smile:

You could use a shooter_mortar with a trigger_multiple to activate it. So when a player walk into it they trigger the mortar(arty) Do a quick search on shooter_mortars for how to use them. That should do the trick :slight_smile:

nah i really want player as targets, if you have a big surface you wanna have to be artied when player walks trough, you need alot of trigger_multiple + shooter_mortars because if you dont target shooter_mortars it just shoot in the direction where the arrow of the entitiy is. If you target it, it only shoots on that place what makes you need alot of them. Thats really innoing to create, and to modify. Is there no kind of script for it to arty a person that walks in a trigger?

If someone’s ever smart enaugh to find out that script, it also can be used for heavy artillery guns or something.

Hmmm… If you do an trigger attachto entity, which is then taken by a player, will then the attached trigger travel with the player?..

  1. I doubt you can attach stuff to players
  2. If you attached the trigger, then the mortar would still hit the same spot - you’d need to attach the target (I haven’t used mortars before so I dont know if they need a notnull or something to aim at, or just coordinates)

Trigger = target, my mistake :slight_smile: and yes mortars need not_null or similar as a target, and idea was to attach a target to a pickable entity. Which will be picked as the player spawns

Couldnt you just use a trigger_hurt and the sound of a arty? :stuck_out_tongue:

i think only mappers would understand the difference.

Then… What if he got an obj, like radar parts or documents, thats pickable too… then noone would be able to pick the obj.

And you can drop the pickable entity, with knife and ‘f’
