Play.com Pre-order Not Arrived!

(McKooza) #1

So,
I ordered Brink from Play.com.
Its release day and it’s still not arrived.
They’ve E-mailed me the Redeem Code for Fallout Pack.
I’m NOT happy!

Don’t order a hard copy if you want it right away…

(SublimeShotz) #3

order from game.co.uk in future games always come a day early.

(Al_Kamone) #4

just dl it from steam.

(Sheza) #5

This.

GAME have never let me down.

I pre-ordered from Amazon… no package today but I have my pre-order code.

I know I could just be patient and expect it tomorrow, but there’s an ASDA 5 minutes away and they sell it for all systems…

I wonder if I can hold out till morning…

Same problem as OP. Ordered from play.com and it did not arrive, so stupid ordering from them. Will be from Game in the future, everyone on my team speak that bought it from game got it Thursday. I have been getting trolled all day :P…

The worst part was this morning when the postman walked away after handing me some ****ty spam mail, minus the expected parcel. Multiple swear words were used to express my rage.

Got my copy from GAME on Wednesday, and the DOOM and Spec Ops DLC codes were inside the case. Preorder from GAME in the future, they mostly deliver preorders early.

(Mustkunstn1k) #9

And who is in fault here? Didn’t Play.com give you an expected delivery date? Maybe contanct them, but obviously you should wait like 1-2 weeks before you do that. Delivering things takes time.

(cGamer) #10

Another day and still no Brink from play.com. Im buying it again from Game.co.uk downloads. I will just keep nagging play.com for a full refund until I get it. If they think I will be sending the game back when it does arrive, they need to think again.

(fearlessfox) #11

I didn’t get my pre-order from Amazon, so I went to Asda and bought a copy and told Amazon I’ll be wanting a refund. They said it was cool, I’m sure Play will do the same as it was supposed to be delivered on release day.

(cGamer) #12

I will have to see, its just play.com have some awful T&C. It takes weeks/months to get things sorted. Iv already made my mind up that I will never use them again all down to this, and for all I care they can keep my £25. Too much time and effort is needed to sort out returns with play. May sound silly but oh well.

(Sheza) #13

GAME for retail copies delivered = best. GAME’s download service isn’t that good, ran by 3rd party.

(xcgillx2) #14

Same problem still aint got it on the 14th
i dont get that with play.com. they sent me the email syaing its been dispatched but that was 2 days before release and it said 3-5 days. so they obviously knew what was going to happen. they should send it out 4 days early that way if you get it on day 3 then its only a day early but if you get it on day 5 then is only a day late. i think i might end up having to wait till tuesday for it now beacuse it says 3-5 working days and i dont think sunday counts. after this cock up i dont think ill be ordering from play.com ever agin.

(cGamer) #15

Heh well iv just walked in to tesco to find atleast 30 copies left on the shelf so I got one. Getting a refund from play.com as soon as possible. Might aswell get my £25 back.

(xcgillx2) #16

does anyone actually have a copy of brink from play.com yet in the uk because if others start getting theirs i should expect mine.

(GR0MIT) #17

Agreed, do this.

(sham) #18

Funnily enough the last game I pre-ordered from Play was Quake Wars. I think it turned up the Tuesday after it had been released. I had to put up with an endless weekend of my mates winding me up while they played it.

After that I never pre-ordered from them again.

You have my sympathy McKooza, tis a great game.

Well after 3 days play decided to reply to my email saying

We do endeavour to dispatch pre-orders so that they are received on the date of release. However we cannot avoid occasional delays passed on from our suppliers.

In addition to that, as the postal service does vary in each area this process can sometimes take longer. Our policy states that we need to allow 21 days from the date of dispatch before we can consider an item as lost.

Well if they know about that, send them out that little bit earlier to avoid these “occasional” delays in the first place. I have yet to see anyone who has got their play.com order yet, including this guy from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNNsHkIppZE

(You may notice my comment to watch 00:55, which is the same reaction I had friday morning :P)

yup been on for 3 days now
