Platinum Edition wolf tools...

(DeusExMachina) #1

I just bought Return to Castle Wolfenstein Platinum Edition witch contains RTCW, Enemy Territory, and editors for both. I’m not sure what version of WolfRadiant came with it (I figure it’s the latest) but it’s WAY different than the last version I had installed (v2.9). The camera controls are completely different, and I liked the camera controls in previous versions. Trying to navigate my maps now is a pain. Second, practically none of my textures are here! I only have the common, lights, sfx, and skies textures in Radiant. Do I have to upload the textures or somethin? I have 2 questions:

  1. Is there any way I can change the camera controls to where the mouse btn 2 = look around and arrow keys = forwd/bkwd/strafe?

  2. How do I get my (store) textures up where I can use them in Radiant?

Hi!
2) I think you have to put your textures in the main folder, inside the game folder. Do you want to map for rtcw or ET? Let’s assume you want to map for ET. Then you take your textures, put them in a folder called mytextures. Mytextures goes inside the folder Textures. (Textures-folder is in the etmain-folder.)
I think you have to restart radiant. Then you can “reach” the textures via the menu in radiant (“Textures”).
The same goes for RtCW-mapping, but the main folder is not called “etmain” but something else - I have forgotten what it is called.
Good luck!

If what was included for RTCW was wolfradiant (rather than GtkRadiant) you should definitely avoid it.

I would suggest that you use gtkradiant from http://www.qeradiant.com

It supports both games, is easy to install, and has developers who fix bugs.

Ah, thanks. That probably answers both my questions.

As for Loffy: That’s not exactly what I was going for but thanks anyway.

I have never tried WolfRadiant myself… but the word is that your suppose to avoid it like the plague. Just get gtkradiant.
