pk3 problems

hello, im very new to mapping and i have already some problems with my first map.
i have finished the map and made it to pk3. when i try to test it, the pk3 wont show up in the maps list in ET. map is listed only in the other ET installation which map files are not in pk3, and when i first tried to test it this way, i got an error “cant find .bsp file”, the error disappeared when i tried it second time. and now when im testing, the sounds are gone… with /devmap also…

maybe someone can solve my problems, or tell me what are the only needed files to run a map as pk3, coz maybe im missing some files.

did you put the pk3 in the same etmain as the etmain you used to make it, cause then it could be confusing the different versions

This is no problem. I have this all the time. Just load an other map first and then use rcon to load map :

/rcon <pass> map <mapname>

That wil fix it. Or reboot server, but this is easier.

dont have a server. i wanted to test it by hosting myself, as in lan, but ill try it this way with a friend.

and the sound disappearing is also very strange, cuz 1 speaker keeps working out of 7 in my map, and none of these speakers are modifiable with /editspeakers /modifyspeaker.

all was fine with /devmap, before i made pk3 which makes no sense…

edit: i made a new .sps file, coz old one got foked somehow, so the sound problem is gone.

i used winrar to make the pk3. now im using pakscape
