Finally, the map is ready and uploaded to few servers:

I needed ~5moths to make the map. its still not with a lot of details. One of the reasons
that i am releasing the final is that i dont have enough time; i should study for 15(!) exams :( 

The map is LITE version which means that the additional (extra) sounds are not included,
because of copyright stuff. Of course there is a full version but its played only on 1-2 local servers.

The map contains a read me file, with info concerning me & the development of the map.

About the history of the map:

 "...In 1944 the Axis found 3 deserted islands where a mysterious temple was full of gold. They were developing a mishine, which melted gold into coins, thus making it easier to transport. The documents for this mashine are situated deep below an axis factory, in a tomb. Allied forces need to steal as much gold as they can and send the secret docs to their generals!  ..."


The map is not a professional work, because  i was fully n00b in making maps, but now i know some stuff.

as you will probably noticed, the command map is just the trace map. This is the part that i did not have the time to accomplish (WHAT A SENTENCE!)

if someone can fix it, it would be great :banana:

To avoid some questions, i will write the sequence of the events needed to complete the map:

1. Build the Bridge
2. Steal Gold #1
3. Steal Gold #2
4. Capture MG42 Bunker
5. Destroy Side Entrance
6. Capture Old City Hall
7. Build Radar
8. Secure Gold (2nd floor Old City Hall)
9. Destroy Tunnel Entrance
10. Destroy Fortress Wall (optional)
11. Steal & secure the docs
12. Press the button on radar table built when the radar isbuilt

```AXIS```
1/2 team spawn @ MG42 Bunker, 1/2 @ Desert spawn
1/2 MG42, defend the bunker
1/2 Desert - go to temple, defend Gold
Later, Defend the docs

Umm, where is the LITE download. The two you have provided allow you to download islandfull.pk3 and islandfull.rar respectiverly. I started on the pk3 and it was 15Mb. My 56k isn’t too bad but that would take 45minutes and I have an exam which is tommorrow night.

both are LITE. The only difference is that one is repacked, the other is not

Even with the above mentioned sequences Allies can never win this map.

Oh, and the gold crates can be secured at the radar component drop-zone. :frowning:

I could see the hardwork and heart you put into the map and I also get the gist of what you were trying to achieve, but unfortunately there are things about it that just doesn’t warrant complimentary (e.g. the overall design, the awkward shader aesthetic, the buggy/incomplete script). IMO these problems have more to do with your lack of preparation and experience than anything else. Hopefully, if you ever have time to make another one, it will be better the second go round. It wouldn’t hurt to read up on other mappers’ experience and what they did/learned, like iffy’s

I admire the enthusiasm and ideas you brought into your work; it’s ashame the outcome was not a playable/fun map.

here’s what i can answer…

this is my first map. i started making it, without any knowledge about ET mapping. Started from zero. I did not expect anything amazing with the first map. I just tried to do my best.

The gold… Yes, this is an amazing bug… i asked here about the problem… no answer. i asked in couple of other forums… no answer again… what can i do?! :???:

if u secure the gold crates where they are supposed to be secured, there aint any problem… i think the sky shader is not that bad… it could be worse…

what can i say… nothing… its just my n00b map, which i tried to make no so n00b, but maybe i could not achieve my goal… :frowning:

there are 2 gold crates, 1 doc. the docs can be secured on the place for gold and the opposite…how to fix it? gold only on gold place, doc only on gold place?!

sadly, there is not fix afaik.

ctf dropzones don’t care for which object you drop into, they just care whether it’s a flag of the ‘right’
team, you are carrying in. the only way to make two different objs deliver to two different drops is
hiding the second objective and its dropzone by script until the first obj is captured. then you could
spawn the second obj and its dropzone (setstate default). i didn’t try that one, but that’s what i’ve
come about and read since i’m new to mapping too and encountered the same prob. maybe one of
those mapping veterans could write two sentences about it…

the other solution is to have only 2 gold crates, without docs
