Check the client logs for the ip of whichever individual server you connected to.

Lots of ways. You can do it in windows but it’s annoying. I haven’t looked to see if the client logs include this information but I’ll take Fubar’s word for it and it would be the easiest. Wireshark is pretty awesome and has great filtering so that’s another option.

I can almost guarantee you won’t be able to ping the external IP address that the data center is using for servers (and the DB server itself will be on a particular port) but you can get pings leading up to it and check if you are having routing issues that is out of your ISP’s control.
