He’ll be back, but not for awhile probably. I never got to play him but the devs have said he is going to be hard to balance.

I just don’t understand why they would choose him for the E3 trailer if he’s not close to being released. I met a new player who was confused about where Phantom was and had to explain how they are releasing the mercs. It gets people into the game who wanna play this cool cloaking guy with a sword and then they realize they can’t for an unforeseen amount of time.

Same reason they’re showing Phoenix, Red Eye, and Turtle in their media; they exist, and they’re interesting to see. Sure, new players will be salty about not having phantom yet, but he’s flashy, cocky, funny, and sets the tone for the game well.
