Pertaining to editing image files

(Fae) #1

So, aside from editing the image files, like loadout card icons, perk icons, etc… Hypothetically, what would happen if a model was edited, or a gun/world texture was? Would the game ban you like in csgo, or would it actually work client-side.

(Nail) #2

unlikely any modifications to game files would be accepted

(Fae) #3

Well, image file modifications are fine. For instance Sovrakha edited Vassili’s ingame pic with a thing of Vassiline, and that was fine. Its really model changes im curious on.

(Nail) #4

pretty sure that’s just menu files, ingame would be entirely different, you could ask shoe directly though

hm, alright. Thanks

(Nail) #6

seems you can change text files, images may be possible, but they certainly won’t be on release

(Fae) #7

hm, that’s interesting. Kinda want to mess with the text files now. Thanks :3

(Nail) #8

that may go away as well but for now

If you can edit such things then you can just edit in an invisible gun model to get more space on your screen or invisible walls with outlines for straight up wall hacks.

Thank you, this will be a ton of fun to play with :3

Come to think of it, yes… If we are allowed to edit the, though, I just want to tweak some the gun camos. I have so many fragment cards that I want to change the skin around a little, gets a little old after awhile. Like, mabye make tint the whole scheme with a rainbow gradiant, lol. Now, it isnt really a question of can we now is it? We all have the files, its a question of what happens if we run them after a change.

@stayfreshshoe Are we allowed to mess with these files? I would love to tamper with gun camos and map textures. Like get a rainbow tinted fragment camo, or make chapel a brighter, cheerier place client wise. I don’t want the game’s security to ban me if say, I changed a brick wall to look like it was made of wood logs and not bricks.

Or make enemy models Bright pink and teammates bright green for basically chams. This won’t happen.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s possible, or even allowed, to edit that stuff. I know I’ve seen some old Battlefield Heroes videos where they changed the skins of vehicles and such, but I believe that usually ended up with getting a ban for “cheating”.

I know for a fact you can change the splash when DB opens -I changed mine to God Fletcher- and it very well might be possible to change character portraits. Poke around at your own risk.

And always make copies of files before you mod them or else you’re gonna have a bad time.
