Permanent server/ mod?

is there a permanet server mod out there? or a way without a mod to make a permanet server?

you know so when u turn ur pc off the server is still active?

if not, how do u get a permanent sever?

please tell me!

You will never be able to run a good server from your home PC. It doesn’t have the bandwidth connection/power to run what a true dedicated game server can. Do a search on www.google.com for game servers. Must people buy a game server. And you can’t possibly run a server with a PC being turned off, if you didn’t know that before this post then you are in some pretty terrible shape :confused:

Edit: Most people buy a game server - should read - Most people RENT a game server…sorry for the confusion

I have SDSL (atm trafficshaped to 1536 kbit/s down and 1024 kbit/s up). I hosted a server for 8 players (didn’t tried more). Players that connected had a ping of about 50 - 100. So it is possible when you have a good internet connection. But this will always be slower than a dedicated server since the signal has a longer way to travel.

www.escapedturkey.com has some awesome server at the cheapest rates around I have ever seen (US only). I normally rent dedicated servers because I enjoy having full access to the machine, however, if you really wanted a game server I would recommend them hands down.
