I’m hoping for sidegrade options. If you can pick your weapons from a small set, maybe something similar for abilities? Or tweaking your objective proficiencies (e.g. a bit better at building but slower at hacking)?

I presumed he was talking about the in-game progressive unlocks, ultimates and the like.

They were brought up a few times but aren’t in the game yet.

I really liked that you can choose from a set of weapons for a charakter.

But that there will be no p2w i will only believe when i see it, heard it often enough :wink:

We’re still deciding on exactly what these will be and if they’re based on account progression or session/campaign progression, but they will essentially be minor side grades and tweaks to characters. Think something a little bit like LoL Runes.

You won’t have to pay for them, they are purely unlocks. How/if they fit into any comp modes is also yet to be decided.

i’m imagining a character specific unlock trees, could be nice.
but for comp, everyone is gotta be on an even playing field.

Sounds interesting.

I’ve never played LOL so I don’t know the runes they use.

I’d prefer if it was disabled for competitive play to even out the playing field and make things more predictable

I’d say combine both maybe? If this is referring to the tier xp unlocks. Make a default set become available to all players per campaign for the sake of balance, but then allow players to purchase different stylized (balanced) types of these abilities with earned XP outside of the game and then you can actually monetize from it also without really causing bother. As long as those perks only are highly situational tools that involve an extent of challenge to use then I think it will be a great addition and help to create more unique strategies.

Well why the heck would they do that? That would be stupid. No reason to dismiss the potential though, but then ofc I like CS meta hehe.

I could see it being nice that you pick a perk at the beginning of a match and it starts off fairly weak but then levels up as you gain experience to becoming stronger. This would reset between rounds for SW.

Then for campaigns you could have a choice of a perk that levels up over the course of an entire campaign.

The leveling up mechanic doesn’t have to be a straight numerical bonus, could be that at rank 3 side arms you get dual wield pistols whereas the previous to ranks only increase secondary reload speed by 10%/15%.

Here are a couple more

Specialist - ability cooldown 10%/15%/20% faster
Primary Gunner - 1 spare mag capacity, 1 spare mag extra at spawn / extra magazine capacity (like 5 on Ar, 8 on SMG, 10 LMG, 1 shotgun) / 10% faster reload on primary
Stealth - crouch movement is absolutely silent/crouch movement speed increase/running noise decrease
Adrenaline rush - scoring a kill heals 10% hp, 5% on an assist, over a short period of time/now 15% + 10% over a longer period of time/getting a kill causes regen to start immediately, assist heals 15% over longer period of time than previous ranks - all regen still broken by being hit
