Performance issues on a r9 270x ???

Hi i have recently decided to start playing dirty bomb and again and with my new gfx card i thought i would have no lag on medium settings but i have lag on medium settings i have turned off vsync and all the other performance eating things and im still lagging i have a 4.4 ghz quad core cpu 8 gb of ram any ideas why im lagging

Need more information than ‘lagging’. Are you getting constant drops? Is it just low all the time? Do you judder?

when i spawn the frames drop then they catch up but when i get into battle we are looking at 20 fps and explosions make it even worse what i dont get is i can run battle field 4 on ultra and not get any lag

Does holding tab make the lag go away? Then it returns when you let it go?

helps a little i still get those big fps drops when i get into battle though

There’s a bug where the HUD is causing massive FPS drops. I don’t really know details but I think the devs are aware of it. If it’s truly awful you can play with no HUD except crosshair.

yeah i hope they fix it cause i would think a 160 Buck gfx card would run a unreal engine 4 game.

Well a really easy way to tell if your gfx card is actually the problem is to drop the resolution - don’t even need to change the other settings - massively. If you get an increase then your GPU is choking somehow. If not then there’s something else going on, probably CPU related. I’m guessing that you’ll find your gpu isn’t actually at fault here.
