performance is really hindering any gameplay

Hey there, I really fancied a new game so I shelled out for Brink, I really liked the look of it. Right up until I started playing it, I havn’t played any multiplayer yet, because I am unable to play the single player due to terrible lagg.

EDIT: I also cannot see any servers in the server browser list, I have fwd the ports in my router, rebooted the rooter, pc and game several times to no avail.

My PC is as follows:

Dell XPS 720
Core 2 duo 2.66
4gb ram
Win Vista 32bit (fully updated)
GPU: ATI 5750 1gb (Drivers 11.7)

I know its not the beast of all PC’s, but it runs everything else I play absolutely fine. I currently play BF2BC+vietnam, MOH, Black OPs all single player and multiplayer with full graphics setting, I don’t turn anything down. But this game is laggier than anything I’ve seen before.

I have been through the following topics in this forum:

WINDOWS PC Brink System Requirements & Recommended Drivers
Performance Optimisation in Brink

None of the suggestions have helped at all, the game responds so slow that I am pulling my hair out. I aim and its like swinging a gun through water or something.

I would not throw £30 away, so please tell me there is a way to fix this game because right now I don’t have a game that I can play and it is not any fault or my PC or me. I should never have to go through all this to play a game I play for.

:eek:It could be steam look at the server list, look for BRINK servers in ther, that did it for me:penguin:

TY Cyber Junky, I never used the steam games browser before, that actually worked.

I see you have an ATI card, do you suffer any lagg? I’m reading it seems to be something about brink that doesn’t like ati?

I have a 4350 and Brink ran without any lag or any other graphics issues offline

AMD have released beta drivers with support for OpenGL 4.2 for Windows and Linux http://bit.ly/rhwM8r

NVIDIA OpenGL 4.2: http://developer.nvidia.com/opengl-driver

It is correct, something is apparently happening over here:

Will look into this after work. Thanks Tonschuh! :stroggbanana:
