didn’t read the whole thread, but i saw someone opting redeem code. That would be a decent choice as well. Every gamertag that has played the game (untill 2 weeks after the release) should get a message with a redeem code?
People Who Will Be Unable To Download DLC
If its possible to queue the DLC from the internet, it may be easy for the ones who already have the game to get the DLC free. But is there a release date yet? Imo, its kind of stupid to have this “DLC for free” deadline when alot of the BRINK players are on vacation. (I would atleast suppose so)
This actually makes the most sense
Most likely future DLC’s will be code driven, certainly the game and pre-order packs were, so just send an email out to the qualifying players and job done
Well, for me the matter has come down to timing:
Patch and DLC arrive before 4th July and all is groovy…
They arrive later in July than the 4th, and I’m done.
I won’t pay for DLC purely because my job takes me afk in July - have researched some helpful suggestions from folks here to try and ensure I somehow get the DLC free…but none will work.
04 July or bust.
LMAO, it’s so funny I don’t even pity you. Google about the world and some geography.
:D
In saying this, I meant most parts of the world that are playing this game right now, it seems the majority here are from somewhere where it’s currently Summer time.
I know it’s not the best answer for those that are going to miss the 2-week window that the DLC will be free, but… if you can’t queue the download, find someone you trust with your login, and have them DL it for you.
it’s kind of a pity that you can’t use that goofy 20something-digit alphanumeric code (the one for the stats site) to verify your purchase of the game, to obtain a code for purchase outside of the 2-week window (whenever that happens).
EDIT: Fixed a typo

I’m currently on holiday visiting my gf in Holland for 2 weeks, so I kind of understand your pain mate. However, I designated her pc as alternative location/pc so I can log on to Steam here and dl the games of my choice (currently Brink, L4D2 & FEAR 3), so I’m wondering if that set up can’t help you maybe?
As long as you can access your steam account, and assuming there are no issues with the DLC (steam patched Brink afterall), your game should be able to update on a different pc to your main rig.
Apologies if that’s convoluted, but I hope you get what I mean.

And as long as you’re not trying to access from the UK
“This item is not available in your region”

Yeah, I agree. I was basing it on a BIG assumption that because Brink was patched via Steam, accessing the DLC wouldn’t be an issue. I’m remaining optimistic, however misguided that may be.
Now over to SD/Beth to clarify this one I guess.
The DLC will be availible to download for 2 weeks only, if your on holiday or away from home for that time. Tough luck.
