People use sparks as an assault, not a medic.

I swear every spark i have encountered these days, they are only used for combat instead of reviving, useless teammates that get the highest score just because their fucking “revive” gun is stupidly overpowered: Pinpoint accuracy, Hitscan, and deals huge damage with a full charge. Oh, and it has infinite ammo.

This shit needs to go, and make her a medic, not a new metagame, remove damage on her revive gun and its done.

Ah yes, another one of these threads.

‘‘Pinpoint accuracy’’ in a game where everyone runs around like Usain Bolt on steroids.

Hitscan, just like every other gun in the game.

‘‘Deals ‘‘huge’’ damage’’ I wouldn’t say 65 maximum is huge, yes it’s above average, but not huge.

It does have infite ammo, but at the same time it doesn’t really, as you have to worry about not depleting the battery completely. If that were to happen, you’d be a sittting duck, and not just any sitting duck, the one with the lowest amount of health in the game.

But because of that, people simply use her as a combat character, and basically shitting on her own real purpose.

It happens all the time with support classes in this game. People play Skyhammer to have unlimited ammo, etc. You don’t even know how many true medics you have on your team. As a general rule, the mercs which are most accessible tend to be worst team players. Aura, Skyhammer.

(Haki) #6

Pretty sure the revivr isn’t hitscan, since I have to lead my targets a bit when they’re far away.

(HoopleDoople) #7

I hate Sparks’ current balance and design, but not quite for the reasons you’ve mentioned. Her most terrifying ability is the ranged, near instant revive at full health she has. An intelligent Sparks in the enemy’s backline is really hard to drop, and while she’s alive you have to be flawless at finishing off enemies. Instead of a brief window where revived enemies can still be finished off (which is unintuitive and unfair to Phoenix), I’d rather a longer delay before enemies can be revived at all.

As a weapon the Revivr isn’t as devastating for its precision as it is for its spam potential. There are far too many chokepoints that Sparks can spam all day while she waits for an ally to need healed or revived. It is way too common to turn a corner and be instantly downed by a shot fired before Sparks even knew you were there. Still, this is as much an issue with map design as it is with the Revivr itself. There simply aren’t enough alternate routes to reach important locations.

(jazevec) #8

That’s why many people jump into a chokepoint, or otherwise move unpredictably. You’d do that just to avoid a lurking Vasili. It works against Sparks too.

People use Aura as an assault, not a medic.
People use Phoenix as an assault, not a medic.
People use Sawbonez as - well, you get the point.

There’s really nothing you can do when people who only look out for themselves play as a support class. It’s kinda annoying for everyone and is most annoying when they blame their team for not winning.

In fairness, playing those classes as pure assault is a not a very efficient tactic whereas Sparks poke damage makes her much more dangerous.

But that’s not my point. My point is that some people just don’t know how to play mercs.

You absolutely CAN do something! Display XP types on score board. Selfish players will have very little support xp. You can even track their average support xp for that merc over many matches and display the average.

Then players would be able to act on that information. “We have a Fletcher, but he has shitty average Objective xp. He’s probably a sticky spammer. I need to go engy.”

You changing class still doesn’t change the fact that the dude is still a sh*t support merc.

Sparks is not a dude, so he’s not a support merc. I assume you’re talking about the player.

In that case, he being sh*t support player won’t drag the team down as much. The worst thing is not even knowing how many healers or objective monkeys there are. You can’t even begin to execute a strategy.

by people you mean the two or three noob lvl 5 that headshotted you with it the day you made this post. I play Sparks a lot, yes because i can do loads of kill with her by headshotting people stupid enough to show their head on open field, but mostly because she is a revive train my teammates never gets to wait more than 5 second to get back on their fit unless they get instagib which open way less often now that explosives and vassili got nerfed. They nerfed my get up to 30% but with Compagnon Argent Loadout it doesnt change shit i dont need one full second to get you back full life Sparks is perfect the way she is if she can shoot it means you can shoot her, and with her number of hp you should be able to get rid of her. If you cant then you are not experienced enough to speak about that

Someone does not want his Sparks is touched xD
The argument with the high demands no longer counts sometime.

If you get used to it , you pop the people without problems , as a medic. bit weird

(neverplayseriou) #18

Wait I thought sparks was the replacement of vassili and aimee :stuck_out_tongue:

(Nimron) #19

prbly there is no sparks! it is a vasilli dressed like a woman :#

(ostmustis) #20

let ppl play her any way they feel
sidenote: imo she is way too strong for medic and way too good medic compared to the others
