People spawn on top of each other!

Hi
in my map maat_b2 the players spawn on top of each others head. i dont know how to fix this. i tried to give each spawnpoint an id with a number but that didnt help. i also have enough spawnpoints for the teams i think 20 for each team. this is the first map this is happening and i dont have a clue what is different to the spawnpoints in this one!

Check for typing error… Most likely the spot you spawn has it correct, the others not.
Just guessing though.
Another guess, I know this happened on Baserace but its only 2.55 afaik (http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16878&highlight=baserace+spawn)

Try to remake it 1 by 1 .
Don’t use spacebar to double it.
Right click / team / choose your team

If you make more spawns do they appear in random places?

In case you have not fixed this bug, you have to tick the boxes “startactive” on the spawnpoints. Or alertentity them via script for them to turn active. If the map has none active spawn entities, one of them is forced active and all players spawn at the same exact entity and get stuck on eachother.

So to allow using all the entities of a spawn place, mark them startactive or alertentity them if they are not supposed to be active at the start of the map.

Slightly off topic, but… When I make a map for, let’s say, 8 vs 8, I still create and place a higher number of spawn entities at each spawn place (for example 12). Just in case…

Some server admins love to let more players run around and frag (which is OK ofc) even if the map was originally made for a smaller number of players.

Having an extra backup of extra spawn entities prevents players spawning ontop of each other and other spawn hazzles.

As the game is for a maximum of 64 players shouldn’t there be 32 axis and 32 allies spawns as “default”?
