I have yet to see Resistance ever win while playing offense on this map. It is far, far too easy to defend the hacking nodes and expect the Resistance to stand a chance. I’ve been playing since literally day 1 and have never seen a team manage to hack it.
Even playing against bots, it’s the hardest mission in the campaign.
Do something about it. It’s not fun and whichever play-tester said it was needs to be fired.
Or use VOIP and get your team to work together to take the node. Then defend that area as if your life depended on it, because it does.
I just lost earlier today as Security on Reactor(wasnt my first loss there either) cause my team wasnt working together in waves instead it was one or two guys at a time actually trying to defend it, while the rest of the team was trying to spawn rape. Which as it turns out was our downfall.
I won the reactor map this morning playing the game as resistance in a 4v4 human (and 4 bots per team). The key as mentioned above is to work as a team.
Yep. Reactor is one of my favorite maps. Can defend it and take it easily if my team is working together. As Resistance, you just have to pick a side and work together. We had sentries up as the attackers and the hacker needs to hide behind the pillar. Don’t keep standing in front of the monitor while you hack. Run around that thing while the hack is going. Good luck!
Defending team respawn time needs adjustment.
It’s like Splash Damage didn’t play test this game one ****ing single bit.
I’ve only played it a couple times and unfortunately, I chose to quit out as it was a 3 (Resistance) on 2 (security) game without bots…I didn’t even know that could happen.
The other time I was Resistance and I was the only Operative…but I had a medic who had about 5k xp when we ran out of time! The whole match, I would wait for a respawn and follow my team either left or right depending on the way the majority of them went. Why? B/c none of them would work together. Plus, I was the ONLY operative. I didn’t know I could get this frusterated. I was practically begging via team chat to get someone, anyone to switch to Operative…to no avail.
I ended up getting to 70% or so as time ran out…I know it is possible though. If only we had more operatives and a chosen side to attack as a team! Oh well, maybe next time…and the next time…and the next time…I love this game!
I’ve won Reactor as Resistance around 4 times out of 7 or so times I’ve played as Resistance.
Security I’ve won every time I’ve played, about 5 or 6 times I guess.
I like this map, personally haven’t had a problem with it. I will say that it is way way waaayyyyy easier to be security.
This map is definitely too hard for offense. If there was a better way to get to the bridge controls for offense, it’d be better.
