Both MS and Sony have phone platforms. The phones are game capable, touch sensitive, have gyroscopes, compass, GPS, camera’s from and back, operate via wireless, cellular, PAN/NFC. That sort of stuff is a big door opener to sell hardware but also to start selling stuff on the alternate platform as cross overs. Maybe they should have both been looking at this stuff instead of jerking around trying to one up Nintendo.

But either way, throwing your controller at the wall is inadvisbale. besides there are very few games these days that are frustrating enough to enduce controller throwing. If you think otherwise you cleary never games on 8 and 16bit platforms.

I dunno… Playing BFBC2 last night with some mates and that was inducing severe anger.

So many aimbots these days… You kill some dude, and then literally a few seconds later they are right behind you… Assholes spawn to your location. And they can set you to highlight in a colour ie orange so they can target just you… all cause you got their freaking tags…
Then the base camping starts with the helicopters and tanks… all whilst our team was blowing up our own machines…

Probably the same homo clan tools griefing BC2 players cause they can’t get a gf.

This is why I say people should be held accountable outside of the immediate game instance. Right now anonymity is the best friend of many negative aspects of gaming. And I don’t mean playing under your real name, just that you are locked into your pseudonym account so can’t escape being a dick.

Anyway, talking of phones integrating with controllers Sony release an Iphone App today to link to varies Playstation functions. Are they catching on? Gamesradar

Well it’s quite possible that that person just spawned on a team mate and killed you.

But I would like to point out that BC2 has horrible coding in that respect. You can hack your position on the map and until on of the last patches you could also teleport other players and heal them at will. I mean seriously. Those are some MAJOR game engine design flaws.

Well BC2 also has horrible coding in just around all other aspects too so… :s

It’s almost like there needs to be a whole new standard of etiquette taught to kids so they realize it’s not socially acceptable to swear at people over a wireless mic conenction while playing a game. And I’m not implying it’s just kids doing it, I’m saying that if their dad’s caught them doing it and punished them when they were kids maybe they would have figured it out. Instead Dad’s are teaching the same unacceptable behaviour to their own kids.

All I can say is thank god (and PC developers who still care about their customers) for dedicated servers you can be in control of. Maybe this is why I never run into this kind of thing (I know it exists because I hear people talking about it and even admitting they do it themselves), people that act that way are banned from the servers I play on so I never have to deal with them.

This whole lack of accountability is so prevalant in our society that it’s integrated into the way reporters write stories and no one ever stops to even question it. An example “The car went out of control and crashed into a tree, fatally injuring the passenger.” What? The car went out of control? The car was never in control, the driver was in control and he lost control of the car. It’s a subtle thing (and more common than just this example) but it reinforces the concept that people are not accountable for what they do.

I agree with the parent thing though. Its most certainly a generational thing and it goes back a lot further than “kids these days”. Those kids are the result, its two or three generations of poor upbringing which have got us to where we are today.

I love how everyone hates on the PS3 here when the 360 runs practically the same.
I am on PS3, but i do agree PC has better “versitality” and what not.

I feel bad for you ps3 people and your lack of DLC for the most part. And bad support… and patchy connection… and sometimes weird frame rate issues even though you have a better disc medium the xbox… and your strange dildo ball strobe wii movement sticks. You guys get shafted. But at least it’s easier for you to use a keyboard and mouse. I don’t think xbox will ever let that happen with us. And what do we get? A camera thing? And we pay through the nose… but I’ve never been dropped from a match or had to wait to play online.

Isn’t it being developed on all three systems so as to avoid just having a crappy port? So consolers (that’s not a word…) have nothing to worry about :slight_smile: yay foresight from devs.

Edit: you can buy keyboard mouse emulators so the Xbox thinks its a controller but it’s really Kb+M… pretty sure it’s considered cheating by all leagues though.

i guess Nail mean two constrollers-pad-combiantion, with joy-stick in left/right part and trackball on opposite side, like MS did with two joysticks in 1st Xbox joysticks.
also

even my PC mouse had built-in track-pad.
so, its cheap as dirt to implement.
and more usable than, for example, spyware divices, like [overpromoted]“Kinect” ©.
