Obviously every button is customizable, and this time on every platform. But how is the fact that controllers have less buttons handeled?
A recent example would be Bulletstorm. In that game there is no jump, there only a context-sensitive spot where you can climb over things which is handeled by the A button. The A button also runs when held down and slides when double pressed. On the PC version it made no sense tho. Jump (climb), sprint and and slide (I guess it would be the crouch) are all one button. And you can’t change that. I realise that in Brink you don’t just have to use the SMART button, but similiar situations could occur.
For example in the videos it is clear that you can buff your teammates. Usually the ‘X’ button appears on the characters. What would the ‘X’ button do usually? Reload? Because I don’t want to buff my enemies with the reload button, I can totally have a separate / ‘use’ button for it.
Does the character take his tools out only at specific places? Like for example the Engineer has the torch or something (used to be pliers or whatever in ET) to build stuff etc. Can I only take it out at the specific places with the use button? Or is it something that is an active ability and goes on the D-Pad which probably equals number keys on the keyboard?
What about the the freeze gun or whatever for disarming bombs? Same thing.
Although it would be probably easier to just have one use key instead of scrolling through the specific tools. But the question about the buff key for example still says.
tl;dr I am just wondering if there are keys that have more than 1 use (like sometimes context specific uses) and if there is a way to separate those buttons on the PC.
PS: Brink is coming out in 2-3 weeks. PC footage please. :stroggtapir:
