PC Feature request: Post match chat

Please, please make it so that when a round ends players are defaulted to view the Global chat. Because it is an “opt in” you don’t really get the sense of community that is often fostered at the end of a grueling match when players can throw out some GGs or what not - because nobody clicks global chat.

It would be great to make it default to how you guys did it in ET:QW – awards at the top and chat at the bottom. But please just give us the ability to type gg when a round ends, such as during the cinematics or what not.

Not once have I played and heard or seen any chat. I think this has a big part in it. No chance to talk smack/praise afterwards, no rounds of GGs/BGs, etc. If I recall correctly, BFBC2 had the same issue and that got patched in after a while.

Also, apply the same during warm-up.

Hope that wouldn’t be too much of a hassle to iinclude a default post chat thingy.Yes, the fixes for the issues noted take priority. But it would be nice to have it as well. :slight_smile:

We really need this. I think it is somewhat rude not to chat after a nice match. So being literally unable to do so when the round ends is awkward. So please Splash Damage: add it asap or the Makron will eat you :infiltrator:

How can I explain to my teammates how we would have lost horribly had it not been for my valiant efforts if there’s no post-game chat?

in setup match the chat is so ****ing useless…yo gotta press global team fireteam to read…sucks imo.

I think this was pushed under a bus because:

A) Timmy wouldn’t hear/see naughty words.
B) Timmy couldn’t say/type naughty words.
C) Consoles don’t have keyboards.

At least on the last point we can hope enabling the functionality isn’t much to implement.

Cheap shots aside though. I do feel that the end of match is a good time to promote adding friends to your list and building a community.

There is end of round chat…

Well, if it’s enabled on the server, anyway.

But you can chat at the end of a round. Just press the global/team/fireteam buttons at the XP Progress/Award window.

agreed not many people open that chat window, it should open by default in the lower right corner of the screen or something…

Is there a particular reason so many servers have it disabled? Is it a default setting?

this only started after last update, so I’m guessing something was changed to make it not on by default :\

Please make it default again and also go straight to globat chat…

After the last update it changed it to defaulted off. I think it was just an accident, and they’ll probably fix it next patch.
