[PC]Fake Grenade Weaponbank Script

(DarkangelUK) #1

I know there’s a few who don’t like having to use a key off their mouse to throw grenades, as it can mess up movement and timing when cooking, so I’ve got a small script that simulates having the grenade as a weaponbank ET style.

I tested and it works fine, you’ll get a prompt at the middle left to say when grenade is equipped and when you’re back to normal shooting. There’s a slight pause when using it as it does a rebind, but it’s workable. Obviously change G to whatever key you want to use as your nade.

So press G and it’ll say Grenade Equipped at the left and you can prime and throw with Mouse1, press G again and it’ll say Weapon Equipped and you’ll fire your gun as normal. Screenshot here

//DarkangelUK’s fake grenade weaponbank script
set nadearmed “bind G $nadedisarmed; bind mouse1 _useGrenade; addchatline ‘Grenade Equipped’”
set nadedisarmed “bind G $nadearmed; bind mouse1 _attack; addchatline ‘Weapon Equipped’”
bind G $nadearmed

Sick work DarkangelUK!

Oh nice work D, cheers!

Thx

So it doesn’t automatically switch back to your normal weapon after you have thrown your grenade?

Lovely, if that would work with buffs and revives as a tap it’d be ace.
I guess I could make a toggle macro on mouse3 for ‘use’, that’d save me having to hold it down all the time. Hmmz, ideas ideas.

Thanks anyway, have some more rep

edit: I can just chuck this in my autoexec right?

edit2: Razer software won’t let me make toggles unfortunately. Can’t really figure out how Microsofts macro thing works, that might be able to do it though. I don’t think the game can do it either right? Or is there script syntax available to make a buttonpress a toggle?

(DarkangelUK) #6

Yeah in the autoexec is fine.

Is there anyway to eliminate the pause? It’s really annoying, especially if you are in the heat of battle and/or sprinting.

Someone else mentioned that QL suffered the same issue during the beta when rewriting a bind, I’m guessing it was fixed, so that would suggest it would require the devs to fix it.

(FireWorks) #9

I used similar binds in ETQW and they never fixed the delay either

Terrible work, DA.

Edit: I mean good.

Ya was going to mention that, but Singh beat me to it.
For the devs: Rebinding buttons cancels any button you have pressed at the time. IE when I’m walking forward (w) and then hit DAUK’s script to arm my grenade, I stop moving forward and have to press w again.

i just bound grenade to middle mouse and the objective wheel to alt.
unfortunately i already had the habit of looking at the wheel after respawn/ match start,
so after the change i often stood there at spawn with a cooking grenade in my hand wondering if on this server ff was on or off.
and damn i was flamed for it… cant’t blame them though.

I had an instance last night when I was stuck in grenade mode and couldn’t swap back, prompting me to have to manually bind shoot to mouse 1 again, unfortunately I’ve been unable to replicate the problem.

Shame about the pause issue also.
