nope. i have 10mb - i could still get decent dl speed elsewhere. dont be cocky. i work in IT im well aware of how to test things.
PC DLC is downloading right now!
That is the truth dude. Patch days are always the most unstable days as everyone and their grandmother are trying to download and check out the new features.
Patience. It’ll be here before the weekend and (barring a sudden case of man-flu) that’ll be the only time I’ll get to really invest in playing. /shrug. It’s all good.
Now this is a useful piece of information. Thank you!
Right now it’s 11:14 am Pacific. My wife works in the software industry and it’s not uncommon for people to stroll into work around this time.
Well, I’m off to get some breakfast.
Cheers,
JJ
If you are downloading on steam at 17k something is definatly wrong with your internet, dont care if your working in IT or not. 17k is extremely slow for steam downloads. I have had steam for 5 years and never had a download that slow, most the tiem its 1.5-2.5mb/s. When its really busy sometimes 500k, but 17k? Nah the dude above is right, somethings up with your internet if thats the usual speed you download off of steam at.
This isnt TF2 or CS nowhere near as many people will be downloading this update so I doubt the server will be slow.

This is true, steam does alot of updates at noon (pacific/westcoast time) or after. Rarely does Steam release stuff before noon on westcoast time. Would not expect updates to happen till around noon Pacific time.
nope. it was steam. maybe it was because i downloaded that POS warzone… never seen it so slow. i was so amazed i checked on ms websiite and downloaded an unneeded patch. got my full 10mb speed there. normally its much faster - not full speed but ok. nothing more annoying than watching the estimated time left not change for ages.
steam was also disconnecting then reconnecting all the time.
im too impatient, ran out of weed last night so im not as relaxed as normal
lol

Thanks for reminding me. And it’s new comic day! Whooohoo!
cant wait
hope it will go live very soon… for now i am gone watch mythbusters…
busted… for sience… and for getting in time to play the dlc soon!
About download speed. Your ISP usually quotes megaBITS/sec. My London connection gives me approx 17 mbits/sec which divided by 8 (8 bits per byte) I get a steam download of approx 2 megaBYTES per sec. Your download speed will vary depending on your connection via your ISP. However, when steam servers have high usage, they will have to limit bandwidth somewhat. Nobody has infinite capacity bandwidth just like nobody has infinite capacity motorways. And just like motorways they get backed up at times. Try the M25 at rush hour!
8pm and still no bleeding DLC, I’m sorry SD but if valve are that f’ing useless at keeping to a date for a British based company god help the future of your releases with them
as i say i make my living in IT. im well aware of all this
i normally write is Mb for megabits and MB for megabytes. but sometimes i get lazy.
In the end these are issues that just get forgotten the moment the dlc is released, that’s stuff that doesn’t really linger around until the next dlc where people are “well, remember last time…?”
Ah screw this, when I would have got this downloaded I have to be in bed already with my girlfriend… Well I hope they tried their best:(
