PAX Prime Brings Brink Discussion and Previews
Also, in Battlefield:BC2, surprisingly often, people simply don’t want to be revived during a fire fight (because of K/D ratio stats - they don’t want to risk dying again). This makes the Brink method - toss the guy a syringe so he can choose if and when he wants to revive - an outstanding solution. In Brink, there won’t be any revive “mistakes”. The medic just gives the dude the option. WIN!
My facial expression after reading your post, 3Suns.
People don’t want to be revived because they could die again? What the ****, seriously. Says a lot about how statistics can ruin gameplay.
LoL that’s an ugly face
BUT depending on the game… getting revived at the wrong time is a pain. IE in BFBC2 (sorry all my examples are this lately, but it’s what my Mrs most wants to play atm) playing rush mode. If you’re on attack and some muppet revives you in a firefight for you to just die again, it can be more harm than good.
On the other side of the coin, you might argue that you’ve lost the ticket anyway so getting pulled up doesn’t cost anything.
I hate it when I’ve been down for 6 seconds or so so I walk off to go get a drink and someone gets me up and I go down again. Being able to choose (like in Brink) is an awesome idea.

I tend to see it when the other team is at least half recon (so most of the time), and medics are running about reviving people in the middle of multiple endless mortar strikes. There’s no spawn armour or anything, and no spawn waves, so getting revived just means instantly resetting your spawn timer sometimes.

LMAO@the pic!
LyndonL and shirosae actually covered the reasons pretty well, and it shows that it doesn’t matter how hard you try, people will find exploits or problematic gameplay options.
Actually, there is a more legitimate instance for not wanting a revive. When someone is out of ammo, and there are no ammo stations or assault classes nearby. That someone gets revived in the face of enemies…but with an empty gun! I always die with a full clip (LOL) but some of my friends have to reload several times before they die. (Also, wanting to change class is another reason.)
The beauty is that Splash Damage answers to ALL these problems by just having the medic toss the syringe to the incapped and letting them decide.
The big question is, will the medic get some sort of recognition for running out under fire to deliver the syringe, even if the incapped doesn’t use it? Something tells me SD will deal out partial points for the effort even if the syringe goes unused (that would be cool).

"the few times we did die were generally a result of foolishly taking on too many enemies at once or risking a revival of a fallen comrade while still under fire (which, if done successfully, nets you a huge “heroic” medic bonus).”
He’s talking about unsuccessful revives. I think the xp should be handed out regardless of whether players use the revive or not. Giving them the option to revive is what should be rewarded.
Not using the revive would equate to a player using respawn in the Limbo menu after he got revived, not the Medic’s problem.
Thanks, HORSE! Always Johnny-on-the-spot with the referenced info!
Heroic bonuses here I come. I love running out under fire. Makes me feel more immersed in the game - I start pretending in my mind that I am a real medic. LOL Add a little jump and slide, and baby! It’s gonna be fun!
You get XP for giving out a syringe, and also XP if the person successfully uses it.
Mass extinctions have served as huge reset buttons that dramatically changed the diversity of species found in oceans all over the world, ffxiv gil, according to a comprehensive study of fossil records. final fantasy xiv gil, The findings suggest humans will live in a very different future if they drive animals to extinction, because the loss of each species can alter entire ecosystems. ffxiv gil, Some scientists have speculated that effects of humans - from hunting to climate change - are fueling another great mass extinction. ffxiv gil, A few go so far as to say we are entering a new geologic epoch, leaving the 10,000-year-old Holocene Epoch behind and entering the Anthropocene Epoch, ffxiv gil, marked by major changes to global temperatures and ocean chemistry, increased sediment erosion, and changes in biology that range from altered, ffxiv gil, flowering times to shifts in migration patterns of birds and mammals and potential die-offs of tiny organisms that support the entire marine food chain. ffxiv gil, Scientists had once thought species diversity could help buffer a group of animals from such die-offs, ffxiv gil, either keeping them from heading toward extinction or helping them to bounce back. wow gold, But having many diverse species also proved no guarantee of future success for any one group of animals, given that mass extinctions more or less wiped the slate clean, Louis Vuitton Handbags, according to studies such as the latest one.
