Patches f*cking up

(Flippy) #1

I have this weird problem with patches since i reinstalled GTK… i have no idea where it came from, never seen it before.

Basically what happens is when i edit a patch (Vertex edit, V) and i press ESC to stop editing (or move the viewports around), it suddenly jumps to a different shape, often having very long “spikes” protruding into infinity (or so it seems)…

So here’s a few pics to show what happens…:

  1. Just after making the brush into a Simple Patch Mesh (3*3):

  2. After applying some random curves:

  3. After moving my view or deselecting patch…:

What the hell?

Hmm, this is new to me (And i’m used to thing going wrong ^^)

But…
What version of radiant are you using?
What was the grid snapped to? Have the tired different ones?
And have you tried a different version/re-installing it?

Im using version 1.4…

I tried reinstalling and everything

It seems to happen randomly now… sometimes it fucks up, then i restart radiant and it works fine again :S

I’ve seen the spikes to infinity before. You need to find the patch and delete it. If I remember correctly, it breaks your compile.

Use the list of entities (L, I think) and find it or open the .map file in notepad and find it.

I deleted them instantly as i thought it would give trouble…
but the problem is that once it happens once, it happens everytime…

but luckily it’s gone again after a restart of radiant…
