This merc is a noobs paradise. You don’t need to have aim, you just swing and watch the bodies fall. I bet they are loving finally getting kills instead of actually having to be able to aim for peoples heads. Even if they are shit, they will still be winning some 1v1s purely due to the other guy not seeing him and getting a fair chance to defend themselves and see who is truly better.

If anything he should be weaker when cloaked. Why would they make him stronger when cloaked. I just don’t see how they thought this guy was a good idea? Have they got no competent player in the team saying “eeerr wtf are u doing guys. You are ruining what was heading to be a competitive skill based shooter here”

Im in utter shock how stupid they are with this merc.

In the spirit of teamwork, someone can go Vassili, or devise another new way to combat Phantom. As Proxy, when I have seen him coming, I have been able to kill Phantom with some success – about the same rate of success as if I am taking on Fragger. It might be easier if I played as Bushwacker when I am playing Engineer.

Are you serious? It’s the reason why aim punch was added: if Phantom charges directly towards someone, just fire your gun at him and walk back. The aim punch will make sure he can’t hit you. I’ve seen several people do this.

And he’s quite visible and audible if you pay attention. Adopt, adapt, improve.

Umm, thats not true. Aimpunch is something what makes your weapon less accurate while you receiving damage, but i dont think it does a knockback effect. It doesnt matter if u shoot phantom, he can still close the gap and hit you with the katana.

If there are some really competent ppl u can correct me, but i think im right [:

Umm, thats not true. Aimpunch is something what makes your weapon less accurate while you receiving damage, but i dont think it does a knockback effect. It doesnt matter if u shoot phantom, he can still close the gap and hit you with the katana.

it doesnt make your aim less accurate, it just kicks up your view, similar to weapon recoil. basically it ‘moves your mouse’ a bit everytime you get hit.

there is no knockback in the game atm, except from explosives

Can you ppl always see phantom? Sometimes in a middle of fight he just activates shield and vanishes. Try to spray and hoping to find him and Pham, you are dead. I wonder if theres something wrong with my graphic settings?

Natural selection 2 has phantom also. Predator type shimmer. Some guys know how to tweek graphic setting so that it isnt Phantom anymore. They see you at all distances. Devs should make phantom like that its working same way with everyone.

Otherwise, i just love the game!

I can feel it pretty confidently, that my weapon’s accuracy is worse when i get hits (probably the worst when i receive headshot), im almost 100% sure aimpunch is not only effecting the visuals but the bullet spread also.

To be honest, none of these things are live.

I put EU in filter and it shows me South AM or even US servers.

Phantom was the worst idea of devs ever!
Phantoms get K/Ds like cheater in other games
every time a Phantom join a server all other player should leave
no chance, no sense to play

I thought I found a game which I like to play for years … but then came Phantom. No way.

Exactly! This is so annoying. I usually still kill him but a lot of the time he’s able to get a slash on me and take me down to really low HP. No other player in the game can do that just by running at you in a straight line without having to aim at all. Stealth mercs should have abilities that facilitate stealthy play, not banzai rushing an enemy in a straight line.

I bought this merc, played him for 2 matches and stopped. Wish I could give back this merc and get another one instead. Way too cheesy, you can charge straight at someone firing at you and still get the kill.

When I get killed by Phantom, I feel that I am getting out-classed rather than out-skilled EVERYtime. I doubt I am the only one feeling this, and it ruins the game. I see alot of people switch to him when they are losing to change the tide. There shouldn’t be a merc like this in this game.
