Patch framerate and sound ?

(ilyama999) #1

hello

No news about a patch or new ATI driver ?

I also have a new problem of sound in security tower …

Very disappointed of this game … I like it but it’s unplayable … No stability …

Please fix that SD !!!

I’m afraid you’re going to have to be more specific.

Can’t speak for OP, but I’ve noticed nasty performance drops, most especially on Security Tower (i.e. 20 FPS in the starting area), since the latest patch/drivers.

I’m at work so I can’t post a dxdiag.

955 BE @ 3.8GHZ
Sapphire 6870
4GB Gskill Ripjaw 1600
Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3 (rev. 1.0)
OCZ Stealthxstream II PSU

I think the main cause is GPU usage. No matter the resolution, be it 800x600 or 1920x1080, regardless of using an FPS config or maxing all settings, usage (and in relation, performance) seems to scale down or up to keep me at the same awful level within 5-10 FPS.

If I push AA, AO and all the candy I can push my GPU usage to 60%. With no candy and medium textures it sits at 30%-40%, regardless of the action on the screen.

Logically I thought my CPU was bottlenecking, but at lowest/max resolutions the highest it pushes is in the lower 80% (on the lower resolution, which does make sense, so that’s a plus). I can also play BC2 (gross) with 4xAA and 4xAF, all max settings save HBAO and sit at 70+ unless I’m viewing the map aerially, and I’m to understand that game is a pretty substantial CPU hog.

I had it playable with catalyst 11.3, but after the patch it seems like no drivers help out. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve restarted my PC to uninstall/clean/reinstall drivers. Over 30, that’s for sure.

All I know is - or at least all I knew is - if a game I’m playing looks like total crap from 2003, it should at least play smoothly. That’s the trade off. Not anymore. When I turn down the settings in Brink, my GPU works even less and my performance drops.

I could stop playing, I suppose. Migrate to a different game. But there is nothing else.

EDIT: Should also note that during the first few weeks of the game I went and bought a 560 Ti with an easy return policy so I could comfortably wait for the patch. I wouldn’t say my performance was hugely effected in terms of numbers, but the way frames were displayed were much smoother… frames with my ATi feel like sandpaper.

I’ve got no sound on security tower map …
Horrible framerate on this map and on others maps too …
ATI 4890 …

Can I wait for a patch or new ATI drivers ? Or this game is dead ?

thanks

Always asking to be more specific … pfff

Are you deaf , blind or both ?

The game sucks !!! Very very bad optimisation ! I’ve got better perfs on Crysis 2 and graphics are very very not not at the same level …

The framerate sucks !!! It’s a shame ! I hope that all the DLC will be free …
That’s the minimum you can do … If you ask again our money, shame on you guys !

Please fix that and stop being surprised when someone said what I just said …

Very very poor framerate for Playstation 2 graphics …
And sound problem is the cherry on the cake …

Fix that !!! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:frowning:

Oh come oooon, don’t act like you wouldn’t know about these problems.

He talks about FPS drops, sound problems and even worse framerates on security twoer (by far the worst map performancewise).

You know all of these problems. We gave you countless DxDiags regarding exactly these problems but till know there was no fix whatsoever.

For some yes,for the majority of the people with problems…no.

Do you guys even play the game?
I doubt it.
Just play some rounds with a ATI card and you’ll see what he means.

Glad to read your comments guys …

I’m sick of this kind of answers …

More specific LOL … Like you said, the guy don’t play the game … Not possible …
Do you like your game or it’s only for the money ? Maybe, for you, the game sucks too lol
Do you play it one hour with an ATI …

I bet you have an NVIDIA and n o problem on YOUR computer …

Please answer me that you are working on this … Stop asking me details … YOU know the details !!!

“Something is wrong with something on that map.” Really funny guys!

I understand your frustration, but lets be honest. You acting like a complete idiot wont get any solution done. It might help you to vent off but if you want something else, your on the wrong track.

Either you continue to act like a jerk or start getting helpful (to yourself). Did you read the sticky about how to report an issue?

Until now the only fact you provided is bad behaviour but nothing technical.

Oki doki daddy …

(ilyama999) #11

That’s all you got for me ? :frowning:

(ilyama999) #12

Up :d:d:d:d:d:d:d

Describe in details the issue, post your system configuration, where exactly the issue occurs in the map, what your exact performance numbers are.

You know, Emperical Data! HArd facts to help SD fix the problem!

Your post is like walking into a Dr’s Office and saying “I don’t feel well, make me better” :S

(ilyama999) #14

ATI 4890
i7 920
9 g corsair dominator
850W
ASUS rampage II extreme
windows seven 64 bits

I’ve got poor but playable performance 50 % and 50 % bad framerate (20 - 30 FPS)
No stability … With that kind of graphics game, with mid/high graphic settings in full HD, I sould be easily with 90 fps all the time , I think …

But, I’m dreaming … lol

Since people can’t be respectful or constructive, I’m closing this thread.

ilyama999 has posted about their performance issues in another thread. My query was about the sound issue, which wasn’t clearly explained. Now it’s clear this is an issue that also already has another thread dedicated to it.
