Some feedback on the new patch from my point of view:
I was playing with all particles off, so i didnt see either, blood, smoke, dirt or muzzleflash etc. and my textures were on the lowest possible.
Also important im playing on a laptop: Intel i5 Dual Core 2,5GHz - 8GB RAM - NVIDIA Geforce GT 635M
So my setup is not good as you notice…
So now im forced to use all of this and i expected heavy frame drops, but tbh i don’t really notice any difference.
What i notice is:
Muzzleflash: I hate it. Its annoying and useless and in every Shooter i played so far i was able to turn it off, i really hope we get the option to turn it off.
Blood: Same as Muzzleflash. It doesnt even look real, its just bad looking and useless.
Dirt and Smoke (not talking about the Redeye ability): I don’t really like it, because exspecially in buildings im not really able to track enemies because they are covert with. But this is “ok” for me. It’s nothing that really bothers me
Explosions: Allthough the explosions now cover alot of the enemy movement i like it, since now i can actually see when a Skyhammer Airstrike comes in. And since everyone has the explosions it also covers my movement so its just fair and fine
The Chat suddenly is in my top left corner and i’m already used to the old place of this in the hud and i wish it back
without manipulating the hud config.
All in all:
Allthough there is more happening on my screen, the games still feels smooth, as it was before so
i assume SD did something to improve the performance?
I don’t understand why world textures are forced on a minimum, its not like it gives a super advantage. Some people just don’t like the eye-candy others enjoy games more if they have everything on Ultra. When it comes to competive and fairness: Everyone knows the commands to turn stuff on/off so there is no real advantage. So i really hope we get the option to turn off the ugly muzzleflash and blood.
About the Guns:
I don’t see why people cry so much about the changes. There was no DPS nerf, just a slight chance of the accuracy when it comes to recoil. This game is not CS where u need that on-point accucary for a single bullet to kill the enemy
and when you shoot you move your mouse so much because you have to track enemies for a long time (compared to other FPS) so the 5-10% changes are NOT noticible. Anyone telling me otherwise, in my eyes, is just thinking he notices the change because he knows it got changed.
About the mele:
At first i didnt even notice the change, but when it comes to gibbing where u need to change your view in a 45-90° angle i noticed it and i hate it. Why don’t you just change the mele this way: Make it only hit 1 target if u swing it once.
Also for a fix to the DPS of the mele weapons: Why don’t you increase the DPS when you attack from behind and decrease it when you attack from the front. This would also make perfect sense for Phantom, because now he is forced to be a sneaky ninja phantom guy…
