Patch Coming Monday for PC

(sirius89) #21

Hopyfully.

Was the same when BC2 was released.100% CPU usage and like 30% GPU usage. And everybody was wondering why this game was running like **** at release.

(Papanowel) #22

Hope that my game will run again with this patch…

(.FROST.) #23

So, today is today, when’s the Patch coming out?

(Seze) #24

From the news:
…and we’re planning to release it early next week.

“Early next week” is not necessarily “Monday”.

(shibbyuk) #25

A classic case of reading what you want to read rather than what is actually said!

I don’t see mention of the character corruption bug, one of the most frustrating and common bugs coming up in the forum. Hopefully this… goes without saying?

PS: Good news nonetheless!

(mintuz) #26

to me, early = monday/tuesday, wednesday = middle and thursday friday are late on. Therefore how come everybody is saying monday. If I was SD, I would release it tuesday, after the weekend do some final testing then on the tuesday release it

(Nail) #27

yeah, it’s a holiday here

That dude is pretty slow on updating,or he’s very busy makin us our patch,or he has just nothing to say atm. ^^

When a game developer says “early next week” this instantly sounds for me like “monday morning/afternoon/evening” too.

Cuz we need this patch so badly even though it’s just 1 day difference if it really comes tomorrow. But it’s another day where we can’t enjoy brink (talkin about the people which got FPS problems and so on). sniff

(ReturnOfSanta) #30

Hopefully it fixes the Nvidia 4xx/5xx OpenGL issue

(shibbyuk) #31

As it turns out… patch may actually be out today!

Dedicated server update coming in a few hours, client update “not far behind”

FINALLY.Can’t wait for it to arrive.Hopefully stupid performance problems are gone then. fingerscrossed

btw uhm,not that i wouldn’t trust you but if you say things like this, always give a source. ^.^

So,SOURCE OR GTFO! xD

(AnthonyDa) #33

This probably won’t happen.

Your CPU is what’s limiting your max FPS ingame. Get a better CPU until your GPU becomes the bottleneck ? Or just caps the FPS with Vsync. (yes this game is gay and doesn’t let you cap your max FPS to the number you want it too).

Sirius: I read this on Twitter, take a look at the splashdamage account!

(sirius89) #36

Yeah saw it now. ^^

Pretty excited.

You seriously have no clue. The cpu bottleneck is a result of bad drivers and only present for 11.5a drivers for many people.

(AnthonyDa) #38

Then if it’s an AMD driver bug, why is he asking for a patch for the game?

(MaxiM) #39

Anxiously waiting for the patch…

A fast Dualcore will not be the bottleneck for a game like brink. even bfbc2 runs smoother than brink on my dualcore and bc2 is considered as a very cpu demanding game. In brink i see no feature that would justify a higher cpu demand than you got in bfbc2 (small maps, fewer players, no physic engine etc.) Im running an e8400 @3ghz and a HD 5870 and the cpu doesnt slow games down at all. cpu demand is often overrated imho. (Same thing with PSUs. What a HD 4850? Need at LEAST 1000W PSU )

Looking forward to the patch to finally play brink…
