Party System

Is a party system going to be implemented eventually?

I’ve been playing Brink but have been very out-casted as to any Brink-related news, so many obvious things to forum-goers are not familiar for me.

Technically there is a party system - fireteam - but you only stay part of the party as long as you’re in the same server and do not leave. Otherwise, you have to recreate it.

The only thing i remember SD saying was that they are considering all their options, so take that however you want.

I would really like to see a lobby system or something close implemented, even if it takes two months. Me and my friends like this game and currently the only real downside to playing is the lack of said lobby/party system.

My wife and I are friends on Steam and we create a Fireteam together in-game. The manual says that friends should automatically be put into a Fireteam together but I have always had to do it manually.

You know what Jimmy, I wish my wife was into games as much as yours is. Her gaming prowess goes as far as Bejeweled on facebook :frowning:

…and somehow they think OUR games are a waste of time!

I honestly don’t think that we’ll get a party system. Would take a considerable amount of time to prepare, and with how quiet SD is being about things I’m guessing that they may not have the desire to do something like input a lobby system.

But what do I know!? No news is good news after all, RIGHT!?

edit: The reason i seem like I am getting all pessimistic is because I talked to a friend of mine who is into computer networking and he’s says it’s really a boat load of work to do. He knows more than me on the subject so I’m going to have to consider what he says. But hey I’ll keep my hopes up!

I really hope they do. I know a lot of my friends would jump on this game in no time with a party system.

They are really complicated, take Socom 4 for example. That game was built around it’s online experience, and for them to say it’ll take until at least this summer before they implement a party system just goes to show how time consuming it is.
