hey i unzipped my pak0 and found a huge amount of textures… and that lead me to this question “since every et has a pak0, do they all have the same texture files in them? or are they put in there as you upload maps?”
i am jsut wonmdering b/c ai found some of the textures i am using in my map in there, and if those textures are in every pak0, then i wont need to put them in my .pk3.

You don’t have to include textures that are included in ET’s pk3-files (pak0.pk3).
You must include textures that aren’t included in ET’s pk3-files.

thats sweet, i dint realzie but i only need to find and package 50 textures instead of the 150 i though it’d be ! whoohoo!

Even sweeter, you can use all sounds and models that are inside the pak0.pk3 file. Custom textures (when converted to jpeg) don’t take up that much space… It’s the custom sounds and models that will have a big impact on your final pk3.

yea i have no custom soudns or models… i most likely will in my next map,… thsi 1 is jsut to built already as i learned as i built when making this map. i might have hte sounds tho… if i can find a guy with a cool voice :smiley:
