DB is futuristic, pretty sure SD could do more with that. Loads of people have already made suggestions how. Also in overwatch it seems every character has a personality that is also noticeable in first person (how they handle the guns).
Overwatch - MOBA FPS by Blizzard
Watching this remind me of multiple games mechanics in one package , and the Overall style is kind of DB but caricatured with the Blizzard world touch .
Doesn’t WOW me .But I would hired few of their Devs for DB to upgrade DB basic level to the Awesome level
You guys are being nice. All I saw was SD deleting their game and salvaging whatever cash they could when Overwatch was announced. The abilities look a little extreme but over all characters, ability, maps, and universe seem infinite vs DB. DB is so confined they will start making mercs with overlapping abilities.
Designing a game with no direction or final product in mind is a poor design choice.
Fwiw: looks like great fun to play as a single player game, but I’d be suicidal by the end of the first night if I had to play it online. More cheese than a french supermarket
Tracer looks amazing, reminds me of the mind fking I used to do as a Mesmer in GW1.
Hate the cartoon style all these publishers seem to be pushing for recently.
For me it’s all about the gamemode, which I haven’t see any details on, so I shall sit and wait patiently to see what’s going on in that regard.
I don’t even think there is a singleplayer mode.

Tracer looks cool cause she can reverse time which will heal her and teleport her back to an old position.
For game modes, they have said something like escort/payload and controlling areas.
6v6
And like MOBAs they have ultimate abilities, but no leveling.
that is the way to create a unique char abilities. we need mercs like this.
good bye dirty****ingbomb.
overwatch will probably kill shooters like dirtybomb will be
well done blizzard
SD you ****ed it up on yourself!
First, wait until it actually gets a release. Blizzard have the worst track record in the industry when it comes to ultra long development times and eventual cancellations of anything vaguely new and original compared to their regular lineup.
Second… just think about balancing. This thing is a potential nightmare to balance out. The Blizzard fanbase also happens to be full of uber trolls, second only to Call of Duty. Consider WoW/DoTa style gamers getting excited about this, then upset that someone is stacking (whether they are or not), and the endless whining about rebalancing.
It looks like it could be a lot of fun, but watching the gameplay trailer actually made me feel really good about Dirty Bomb. Personally, I don’t want to have to deal with MOBA-esque stat/mechanic memorisations for 10 characters or more (and you know they’ll release more over time) just to be vaguely competitive. The relative asymmetric nature of DB toons/teams means, for me personally, I can hop on even after a week or two of absence because of work or life or whatever and know that my success or failure ultimately was because my skills to run, shoot, and co-operate were still good or had declined, and not because I benefited/failed from another dramatic patch change in stats to a preferred character(s), which is exactly what happens with those large MOBA rosters. And more importantly, that the good players out there are genuinely good as shooters and tactically, not just up there because they invest every spare moment studying the nuances and stats of this one single title… and I know that sounds odd. There certainly is a place for that kind of game, but I am one of those people that would prefer something like DB because it (should) have real world applications, however abstractly, in keeping your tactical and team based thinking sharp.
I’m betting a lot of the excitement for Overwatch is brand based right now for a lot of people. The good elements I saw in it reminded me of some very fun times in games like Savage and the first (and best) Unreal Tournament.
But its also worth noting that big brand games are finally starting to bomb, playerbase wise. Everyone I know that got suckered into BF4 say servers are practically dead right now (at least here in Australia anyway). It sounds like the recent 2 CoDs aren’t attracting the numbers they used to. Blizzard will succeed off the bat because of massive amounts of advertising and brand hype… but how long will that really last?
What’s their experience with netcode as well? They had some hate inducing issues when Diablo 3 came out (and from what I hear, still do from time to time). an FPS, and a twitchy one at that, is going to demand far more demanding netcode than WoW or SC2. Nobody wants to tolerate a millisecond of lag in an FPS.
In short, don’t count DB out. Just because you’re being exposed to the development process (I am still one of those Alpha folk that think we should have stayed officially Alpha up to this point) doesn’t mean the current incarnation of the game is as good as it gets. There have been changes since the closed alpha, some seemingly minor ones that I remember made the game feel significantly different in feel and pace. Cartoony gameplay is a lot easier to pull off, and that’s why everyone is so critical with DB, because art style aside, everything else is not cartoony… no overly exaggerated guns or movement.
And don’t think I’m waving a flag for Splash. Last time I popped onto DB, I liked the direction it was heading in, but still saw a lot more work involved to make it “right”… a lot more than I would have liked to remain at this point.

Payload mode is almost like db - capture point and door is open -> escort mpc to point
may be teams at the end are swapped - didn’t watch all blizzcon stream
This reminds me of a debate on this forum :
“We really encourage when you play Overwatch to switch heroes often. Overwatch isn’t a game where you have to like lock into a hero at the beginning of the match and then you can’t swap off of them. You can swap heroes every single life that you’re out there. And we actually encourage players to do that, that’s actually the best and right way to play the game.”
Same here .
DB has a good Core Base Elements ,If only they could bring those missing ones (class, good story reflecting on original Objectives/maps …)
Id Rather like having real original /Fun objectives ( + class . I think will be a turning point for game addiction) than few of those imported Movement/mechanic
DB keys points : Class based ,Maps/story, Objectives awesomess, couple of other movements and DB will be Hard to surpass
Well now that Blizzard is making a moba-fps, maybe we can let them have the genre and get rid of all the existent/planned such-like features in DB to go back to a well-made classic team based shooter?
:stroggtapir:
The shooting itself looks pretty bad in this game, but probably also cause of how the teaser was made. Overall it sure will be popular, but I’m not afraid for DB at all.

you wish jelly fish

Their gorilla well ehm ‘merc’ appears to be able to throw his team-mates. Like he holds his arm out indicating availability and any team-mate can then hop on and be thrown into the distance.
