[OUTDATED] Thunder recap

Outdated due to Thunders release on the 24/11/15 or 11/24/15 (For you US people)

So I did this thing to Phoenix aswell where I tried to get as much info on the new merc out of the role call so let’s do it again.

Name: Thunder
Nationality: Russia
Health: 160
Speed: Probably around 370 (Thanks @Haki )
Weapons: NEW Mk46, Timik-47, Stark AR.
Secondaries: For now I only saw the M9 and S&W but I assume there will be Caulden or .40.
Melee: Kukri, Stilleto, Beckhill
Ability: Concussion grenade
Augments: Quick draw, spares, unshakeable, quick eye, drilled, tough.

Let’s expand on the Concussion for a bit:

  • Can be used as EMP meaning it will disable nearby enemy deployables for a time (Including Proxy mines and Stickies)
  • Makes the screen white when looked at when explodes. Note: It won’t make the whole screen white but mostly you won’t see anything, there are a few clear parts.
  • Won’t flash/disable friendly stuff
  • If you look away from the nade then you won’t be flashed or you will be flashed for a bit.
  • Has a cooldown of 17 seconds
  • Can be cooked (interesting)

What do I think Thunder will be used for?
Was hard to think really, he is pretty versatile but I feel that if he uses the MK46 he is more meant to be a tank for attackers, and if he has Stark then he will support his team from the back lines and here and there throw a flash to help them enter a room or disable an Aura station (Which is damn useful).

What do I think of him?
He is interesting and I really can’t make up my mind, he seems cool but somewhat impractical considering his ability doesn’t do damage nor heals so I’ll just have to wait and see.

When to use concussion?
Probably when trying to enter a room full of enemies or when trying to disable an Aura station to kill the nest.
It’s short cooldown makes it easy to help advance through certain parts of the map where lots of enemies are at in less then a minute.

I did some testing a while ago with the Concussion grenades, now obviously the data I gathered is very likely to have been altered, but I still think it’s worth mentioning, and i found that facing away from the Concussion grenade changed very little in terms of noise and brightness on your screen, and pretty much only altered the duration of the effect. Even the duration didn’t seem that much different when you were facing away, but just enough for you to notice that the duration was shorter.

How did you get that 290 movement speed ???
RHINO has 360 so 290 seems heeps slow.

Wasn’t checking really what I did was 385*4x3 (385 being fraggers speed) Guess it will be around 370 somewhere there

Also I find it worth mentioning that because he has 160hp, he can’t be one shot killed by neither the MOA nor the FELIX sniper rifle

So, when I saw the merc role call for the 9 time, I notice that he was using a revolver, but in the loadout cards, there was the M9, and also I though the cooldown will be 30 s
He will be used to destroy nests of people and then rush it, will be great to kill auras
I think the speed will be Fragger´s speed - 10

He’s definitely going to be a contender for Fragger’s position, I think after a few more changes to the Stark, Timik, etc he’ll be a top tier merc alongside Fragger, Sawbonez, etc.

Doesn’t the smoke not get extinguished and the flames are hidden by it?

Friendly smoke and friendly molotov, the smoke will hide the fire

…? T45, MA42, S41. Isn’t 4 the M9 not the Selbstadt .40? Selbstadt has 8 as it’s designation. (Don’t believe me? Go look at Spark’s 383 or Aura’s H83.)

Also, I just realized that three of Phantom’s loadouts are mislabeled. They should have a 6 in them, not a 4.
