Our Makeshift Ps3 Server Lobby

Due to the fact that Brink on the ps3 lacks a server lobby, or any organizational system to play with your friends, we have developed a system to find rooms within a small community.

We have made a PSN Text Chat Room titled “Unofficial Brink Chat Room.” This chat room works as our server lobby/ world chat for playing Brink on the PS3.

When you click the ‘Invite Friends’ button you have the option to Invite from your friend list, Online id, or CHAT ROOM. Select the Invite CHAT ROOM button, and you will send invites to everyone in the chat room you selected. When you’re in this chat you will recieve MANY invites into rooms.

The only issue we are having is the fact that the numbers in the chat room remain rather low.( Around 15 people or so )
This is still enough for 2-3 games at all times, but we could have many more if people would remember to join the room when they log on.
People seem to forget to join the chat room when they get on brink, then complain they never recieve invites.
YOU MUST REMEMBER TO JOIN THE CHAT IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS WORK, WE NEED EVERYONE TO JOIN THE CHAT WHENEVER YOU PLAY BRINK. DONT FORGET
This chat is NOT at all for me. Its a team effort. If we dont all invite people, if we forget to join, or we try to make other chat rooms, it will not work.
We need EVERYONE to join this psn chat group, and we need EVERYONE to remember to join it when they get on brink ( I even join it when i play COD or other games )

We organize MANY tournaments
We record a lot of gameplay
We play gametypes such as zombie, president, and hide and seek
We have the potential to turn brink into an actual community. But you have to just follow the system and it WILL happen. But if you dont remember to join the chat and never invite your friends, how can we become large enough to call ourselves a community? We have MANY people who play this game on PS3. This WILL work if you just follow the sytem.

PLEASE. I WANT A COMMUNITY. PLEASE

Recap:
Step 1: add iPeaches or BlackWaveArcade
Step 2: Accept the chat invite
Step 3: Rejoin the chat invite EVERYTIME you log in ( it logs you out of the chat when you sign out ) It doesnt help if you never join the room…
STEP 3 IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP, YOU MUST DO THIS OR THE COMMUNITY WILL FALL APART. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REJOIN WHEN YOU GET ON
Step 4: ALWAYS invite your friends, regardless of where they live or if they have mics
Step 5: Thank me later. CUZ IT WORKS

Please, dont let Brink die, its gameplay is above everything else, if we create this community, it will be the game of the year. Please, it doesnt take much effort to join the chat, its all i ask.

It does work. I’ve had no problems finding games with other players on Brink now. Like Peaches said tho, everyone should log into the chat and keep it populated. Think of it as “buffing” the chat :slight_smile:

We did it on RSV2 and LP2. Both great games! Both lack good sever browsers =(. You played either?

Rainbow Six Vegas 2? Yes I played this one but on xbox with party chat so I did’nt have the same problem.
Lost Planet 2 ?? Never played. I found this problem on MAG before they came out with the clan deploy patch. It did work perfectly. I have an idea.
Do we use the rank chat rooms I created for co-op games aginst bots and the “Unofficial Brink Chat Room” for VS matches? Just an idea.

I know this is an old message, but nobody stole your idea. This room was started on the Bethesda forums around the same time as your ranked rooms were…possibly before.

Anyway, people need to join this chatroom. Recently, the activity is much lower than it once was. When someone joins and only sees 5 people in the room…that discourages him from joining the next time he comes online. It weakens the community.
