Option to buy rarer loadout cards with cash + issue with rarity system

(Azure Emulation) #1

I was thinking of laying down some cash on this game for cosmetics, but it’s just discouraging to have to deal with the RNG system of Elite Cases and trade-ups. This is especially considering how there’s different skin variants for Silver/Gold/Cobalt cards, nine different loadouts per Merc that are all subject to RNG for acquisition at high rarities, and how the color that you get differs solely with scaling rarity. Blue only accessible at Cobalt? The rarest and potentially most expensive of them all? No thanks.

Until I can buy a desired rare card directly with cash, and until the rarity system is revised to include different color variations within a single rarity, I don’t think I’ll be spending money on this game any time soon. Ideally, Silver/Gold/Cobalt should be just as rare as each other to resolve the “color scaling with rarity” issue, and then that will leave room for future card types (ex. Crimson for red skins, Irradiated for green skins, etc.). Seriously, cosmetic purchases are the bread and butter of humane F2P models; just look at Warframe and how its playerbase practically BEGS for bling to buy! Locking these things behind RNG and scaling rarities isn’t gonna convince any sane person to lay down cash on this game for cosmetics.

Yeah I think it’s fair to let us choose the loadouts of our cobalt cards.

No…
Assume you are allowed to choose your perfect loadout…
Will you ever buy another case or do a trade up (money sink) hoping to get your perfect loadout? No ?
Is that bad for Nexon ? YES !

But letting players use different skins on same card would be pretty cool, provided that the player has a card with the particular skin … Aka , allow players to use gold skin / bamboocrap on cobalt or bronze cards , IF they already have a gold loadout card with gold skin / bamboocrap for that merc !

(ofcourse i know the above suggestion is still bad for nexon …but letting players more freedom would be nice) This opens a new gateway to skin system, SD could sell skins for real cash / ingame creds !

There should be a separate cosmetics store for people to throw money at. Let them change the skins on their loadouts for money and then it’s win win for everyone.

@peppyFarmer , acquiring the “perfect loadout” is technically something that’s already happening with the Bronze cards in the store. It’s inevitable unless SD starts micromanaging loadouts with balance passes. Also, it’s both bad for the customer AND bad for Nexon if we’re required to submit to the mercy of RNG in order to personalize our Mercs. Customization options play a bigger role in player satisfaction than you think. Having to gamble for customization, especially with cash on Elite Cases, is both unattractive and unethical business.

If you take a look at Warframe, every one of its numerous customization options is available for a flat price with no catch. People throw money at them, engage in addicting gameplay with their sweet bling, and overall it fosters a healthy, lively, dedicated playerbase.

@“Potato Potasto” , that also works.

If you could buy rarer loadout cards with cash they wouldn’t be rarer.

Agreed, but it needs to be a different system than just buying them. Love when I grind for months get a cobalt card just to have it be the worst loadout for that merc.

I think choosing our weapons(in a set), cosmetic and augments(in a set) should be separate and each should drop from separate RNG cases, so we can piece together the arsenal we want for that certain merc.

There must be cosmetics. At the moment there is no sense in bying anything, cause you can have every little cosmetic piece for normal credits. I’m actually surprised NEXON haven’t bombed the shop with real-value-items.

Well, at least let people choose for what merc they want to buy a crate.
