Optimizing? With Fog? With Caulk?

(Victorianetza) #1

i looked over the forum but i could not find a solution… so here’s what is all about… my map has lots of buildings. the action takes place during the day. no fog, fueldump sky. the buildings are not caulked, they are just 3-4 brushes. When i look from one end of one street, the other can be seen but the fps are 25-30! Also they are some other places (when walking among the buildings, ex. the streets), the fps are 20-30… so i need some advice - what to make?

  1. FInish my map, then caulk all the buildings
  2. Finish the map, then add fog & trasnform it to snowy map with snow falling down
  3. Combine 1&2
  4. Add other type of fog, typical for a day in a city

what to do?

yeah structural / detail / hint really helps the fps… every mapper should learn these before he starts

Every mapper should not only learn these before they start, you need to incorporate this into your maps from the very start
