Opinions on the redesigns for Market and Overground?

There is way too much clutter added on Market. They also made the attacking route to the B Pylon unusable because the inside is just one straight route through the market disregarding the stairwell. There’s just a lot of general issues with it now as I see it.

I haven’t played Overground just yet, but I’ll update this when I do. Gallery is pretty good though. Looks awesome too.


Further opinions on Market:

I’d like to see Market updated again and have some things added back as well as remove some things. For example, I can no longer get on top of the wall on the market near the B pylon. There’s nothing to wall jump off of as before. I really hope we’re not going the Call of Duty route with this game and making basically everything inaccessible and only allowing linear paths/approaches to the gameplay.

The spot I’m talking about was just being able to walk on top of the wall. It was extremely risky, but rewarding if you could catch people offguard going to A.

There’s also been an increased amount of invisible walls, which I’m sure a lot of others hate as well. The crates/boxes that were added to the market cannot be jumped on due to an invisible wall blocking you. There seems to be little purpose for a lot of the new stuff added to Market. Just my opinion though and I doubt we’ll see any changes, sadly. :frowning:

I removed them from the game files so I cant see the rework (just kidding >< ).

I personally hate market wtf. Is there even any layout change? It just looks like the same map with a whole bunch of textured crap that has no purpose in the way now. So many obstacles sitting up against walls in spots I used to do wall jumps which can no longer be used. Just why.

I think they look very beautiful and much more immersive, personally. Can’t say any of the common routes I take around either maps have been notably affected.

i’m so sad that dockyard is still pending. I totally hate execution. So there is nothing new in the game for me in terms of maps.

I like the changes to market a lot. The map was nearly empty before, we just got used to it, so more clutter is really more natural.

One thing I noticed was that they put a big set of pillars or whatever in a spot that I assume was meant to block the trick with kira where you use the laser from defender spawn to kill people going out of the attacker spawn. Except they didn’t completely cover it, you can still do it.

I also noticed the shelf in overground in the little room that the teams sometimes meet in, on the B side of the map (attackers can walk in from the roof and onto the upper shelf, and defenders occasionally rush in there to hide and camp under the shelf). Well the left side of the lower part of that shelf is now fall through apparently. You can’t stand on it, you just fall down, even though it still stops bullets and grenades and such. It’s strange and doesn’t prevent climbing once you realize you can also jump up through it.

Do you guys mind making screenshots of where you propose changes or see issues? Would make things a lot easier and more likely to be changed if the right dev gets pointed his nose here :wink:
