Opinions on the new trade-in price?

  1. There is never going to be a 1 for 1 trade in, so 2 for 1 is as good as we’re getting. This is fine.

  2. The randomness is fine, otherwise it would be too easy to acquire that perfect loadout. However, trading in should NOT be able to give you back one of the cards you used for the trade in. This is just pure trolling and extremely rage inducing.

  3. 24k credits is quite a bit but this is SUPPOSED to be a credit sink. Getting that perfect Cobalt gives long time players something to work towards. It also ensures that having a Cobalt, specifically a good Cobalt, is something impressive and rare. A little lower might be fine but trivializing the credit cost should not be the goal.

  4. The fundamental issue here is one I’ve mentioned repeatedly: too many loadouts are simply garbage. No matter what loadout a player gets for their merc, it should at least be viable. Everyone will still have their preference, but no weapons or augments should be mandatory.

  5. Cobalt skins need an overhaul to ensure that they don’t provide a gameplay advantage. Allowing blue colors on enemy (i.e. red team) mercs was an atrocious design choice. At the very least we need to ensure that every red team merc is still majority red when using a Cobalt loadout (I’m looking at you Kira).

1:1 + credit cost
No?
Ruled out?
Then kriff off.

2:1 with zero cost is better than nothing. Why it’s limited only to cobalts anywy? All tiers should be affected by the change.

Trade-ups themselves already are a credit sink even if you removed the RNG.
Trade-in is an option ONLY if you reaaallly really really want to try to get the card you want or there’s nothing else to get. Otherwise it’s so much better idea to work on trading-up to silver and gold cards you want.

If it has to be a random loadout I’m afraid anything but 1:1 + creds is ultimately unacceptable. If the devs/publisher are unwilling to do that, that just means there will be no money going their way from me. Especially if the crate rng stays in place as is too.

If on the other hand you can select the very specific loadout you want, this cost is fine and the preivous one can even be considered borderline acceptable.

However ultimately the whole cosmetics system of the game, with tying loadouts to visuals, is just a grandtastic fail. It is as if splash damage - or more likely nexon - looked at the way valve does their “crates” in their various games and decided to only implement the most shitty aspects of it.

I don’t have to care if sd or nexon want to keep some hardcore gambling system in place, I don’t have to support it. It seems hard to imagine that this game is currently very profitable, even if a select few have dumped 4 figure sums into it.

In all likelihood the only reason the game manages to retain the few players it has, is because it manages to avoid being horribly p2w. That and it is currently one of the very few options on the market for anyone into more oldschool style shooters with longish ttks (fwiw the trillion of quake (cpma) clones don’t count). However with how gameplay and servers both seem to get worse and worse, that might not be enough anymore soon. Oldschool style fps also seem to get a massive revival right now and in the near future. Fwiw some of the competitive dirty bombers seem to be already eyeing at overwatch, and with that stupid beta tournament and it’s 300$ prizepool some of them probably already made more money on it than they ever did in dirty bomb. Nevermind getting more streamviewers on top of that.

Still a rip off. 2 Cobalts and a lot of credits…for the possibility of another useless cobalt.

Ill still never use this trade in option.

Personally I’m not a fan of the high credit cost, especially not as long as you can’t buy credits. 24k means playing several hours a day for about a week or two. That said, the old ratio of 3:1 cobalts was terrible, the current one is actually not too bad.
So I definitely prefer the current iteration over 3:1 + no credits.

I burned 100k credits and 4 useless cobalts to finally get a 383 Sparks and I didn’t really feel ripped off since I had no use for either.

Really??? is this your best SD?

you guys should try getting one cobalt without buying single expert or elite case.

If you guys aren’t going to make Trade-Down, or keep the 3:1 or 2:1 + credit and pick the cobalt that we want(only Shard and Fragment is random), I am still not satisfied with this change.

credit cost is still way~~~~~~ too high.

should be around 12k credit I think.

Trade up and trade in should have the same credit costs for the same rarity of card received.

The only thing they changed was Cobalt trading? The entire system is astronomically expensive.
