Just an observation of how SD encourages interaction between the two classes in more than just the shoot their heads off regard.
If you have a look through the engineers abilities, many of the defensive abilities are countered by the Operative:
Landmine
Extra landmine
Light turret
Medium turret
Gatling turret
The operative abilities that counter them:
Hack turret (takes over enemy turret)
EMP grenade (disables enemy equipment)
Visible landmindes and detecting them for your team.
From a credit spending perspective, if you’ve gone all out turrets and landmines as an engineer, i can imagine operatives being very frustrating. The solution? Friendly operatives of course:
Control turret (lets you FP control a friendly turret)
Homing beacon (detect disguised operatives with ADS)
Which basically means engineers will have to rely on friendly operatives to keep the area clear of spies and make effective use of their turrets.
Personally, i’ll be playing medic/soldier mostly, but i’m still looking forward to seeing the above on the battlefield. And engies, you better start making operative buddies from day one!
